Any PCD experts here? A question of wheels.

Due to my lazyness and persistant alcohol abuse I was unable to lob a last minute bid on some OEM Pug 205 wheeltrims in white that I had on my watch list.

Plan B. What alloys of 13" or thereabouts would go onto my 205? I'm not too keen to go down the 1.6/9 GTi route but I was wondering if any other type will be a perfect fit. I don't really want any Carlos Fandango 17" jobbies 'cos I think it looks a bit sad.

4 X 108

ford rwd fit

so im told, but check - as i was told be a banger racer - and we all know how much they like to bullshit

what happened to the RR pcd list?

4x108 I think so should be a good range of Ford fitment alloys that'd do the job?

Google 'Carl Salter wheel guide' Warren, very helpful sight and has list of PCDs, centre bores and offsets etc.

Peugeot ones fitted my Cortina hubs.

Where could I find wheels from, I asked myself when I was building my kit car!? The next week, someone dumped four 205 GTi wheels outside my lockup. lol!

205s are 4x108

Same as other Pugs, Citroens, Audi, Ford.

Just be careful of centre bore holes - for example Ford alloys need boring out 2mm to fit the Peugeot hubs.

T'other way around is easier although not ideal as you lose the hub-centric mounting. Ideally you still need rings to bring the centre bore down.

I was waiting for Jon to come along and tell you Warren.

Jons vast PCD knowledge is astonishing

Poresche 924 are correct PCD and more or less offest too!

Just buy some 14" ones from a 205 GTi 1.6, they are generally unloved as every tom, dick and arsehole wants the 1.9 GiT [sic] ones.

You'll find some for £50 no bother and they'll be direct fit with no offset sillyness.

You'll probably find 14" tyres will cost you less than 13" too.

Only snag with 1.6 GTi wheels is that they have to be balanced on the car as they have solid centres. No problem if there is a tyre house nearby who can do this of course but alas most places don't have the K9 thing needed.

Yeah! Guess what centres my C4 has!

Also, most 4 stud Saab stuff will fit, i.e. doorstop 900. Not sure about the centre bore though, I can measure SCTSH_ANDY'S for you if you want?

I had a ride in a drift Sierra with one-nine Speedlines on it, so they do go one despite the offset being wrong for the car.

True, but the centrebore is far too small, 54mm (I think) to the Peugeot 65mm.

I've fitted Allycats to my 205 because I didn't want to go down the GTi wheels route either.

I had to take the dremel to the centres to get them on, but that only took 10 mins or so. 205s have quite low offsets so rwd stuff fits ok.

Those are 13" x 6" and ET17, anything wider might cause some issues.

Those Alleycats look really smart, nice one!

If I'd have kept hold of that 205 XLD (now belongs to MrDuke's missus) I would have banged a set of 1.6 GTi alloys on, they look superb and seem to cost peanuts - at the time I found a nice set for £50 with good tyres!

The really early 405 Mi16 wheels don't go for much - if you can find a set.

What about a set of a BX GTi 16v rims? They're cheapo as well.

The 306 DTurbo alloys (Harriers) can be had off any scrapyard shitter for not much either.

I think for the ultimate STFU pov AS look, you should thieve some rusty C15 steels.

The PCD changed on SAAB 900 wheels changed sometime around 1988, when the handbrake moved from the front to the back.

Don't forget that Peugeot/Citroen alloys will need the flat seated bolts to fit them, factor the cost of those in when considering wheel choices. I just sold a set on ebay for £24...

Mike, your 205 looks fantastic with those wheels. Good work!

So back OT. With some easy machining I could fit some Porsche 924 non-turbo spiderweb alloys?

Posted

They do look a lot like 1.9 GTi wheels.

I know the 924 Turbo and 924S had 5 stud wheels.

I love the stylised steel wheels that the 205 XS and some TD models (DTurbo?) received.

I'm looking for some 16 inch steels in 4x108 which I thought would be easy. I R RONG :(

One day a Peugeot Partner van will stop outside the factory and 2 minutes later it'll be up on bricks. Being in Luton, this will be considered perfectly normal
