Brammy, Brammy.

Montegos in Basingstoke!

Haha, shame theres only one left now!

I swear JC made a joke about the coke cans left behind interior trim in some sort of American car, I doubt its ever been true.

Stupid Wilson fuelling untrue rumours about windscreens popping out etc.

However I did once meet someone who worked for BL, and he confimed that Coke cans were indeed put inside doors on Allegros at least.

Yeah, only the early ones, if you jacked them up in the wrong place. They ended up marking safe jacking points with yellow paint...

It was the Allegro rear screen that popped out when the car was jacked or parked on very uneven ground.

F Victor front screens popped out in the event of a front ender.

Were they not designed to do that as a sort of misguided 'there are no seatbelts so we'll get the screen out of the way just ahead of you sailing through the gap' idea...? :?

The Maestros and Montegos have bonded windscreens, so they can't fall out when the car is jacked up.

I've heard about it on Allegros, probably more to the inconsistency in spot weld numbers, spacing and quality than an inherent design defect. The welds were done by humans rather than robots, which would account for it.

Looks like Mr Wilson can't tell the difference between an Allegro and a Maestro/Montego.

Does anyone know of a free host for Audio files?, I've got a couple that I would like to share. One is Radio AR with the Two Ronnies going on about the benefits of Austin Rover servicing and the other is an audio handbook for the Rover 825.

I only had it on in the background, but I thought he was referring to the Aggro, sort of a "this is how shit they [bL] were in the 70's too" comment. :?

'Course, you may be slightly sensitised to this, Lou, given your recent purchase...

Like I said, I'm actually half tempted to try jacking it up, just to see...

bit like 2cvers pushing it to the limit round corners, just to see if it'll go...!
