Don't remember owt bad happening or being said. Nuke the whole politics forum. People on both sides of each argument getting upset over folk not agreeing with them. (Not necessarily saying that's why the OP has shut it).

I wouldn't nuke the politics forum.  Agree that there's a lot of unnecessary disagreements, but if anyone doesn't want to read that stuff, they don't have to.
