Because the Amazon has got a few of those them there leaks it has.

I'm going to get myself some Captain Tolley's for the windscreen, but what about for the rear? I realise now that water gets in through the light clusters. I'd need something clear and relatively thin to go ahead of the rubber gaskets.

Sikaflex? I do like the creeping crack cure though - even the name's great.

Not strictly for the purpose, but Fernox LSX is very good for water leaks.

Any clear silicone sealer should sort that out Jon....just get some of Wickes own brand or something.

For windows and stuff I wear by Tiger sealant - it's a bonding sealer and holds well too.

I thought silicone sealant contained acetic acid which goes all NOM NOMS with metalwork?

Silicone bathroom sealant would be the true autoshite way, it can bridge rust holes of up to 6cm too.

I witnessed an elderly guy re-structure the front end of his LDV with Silicone sealant (Pretty sure Warren was there too) ... so i would give that ago.

There is also a product that comes in a small tin, it's like water but after a small time does set and seals any holes.

Jon, you could always ask your dad ? , as i am sure he has had to use some sort of sealent ... to stop windows leaking on his boat ?

If not, then get him to do some research for you.

Tiger and Sikaflex are too strong aren't they? I used normal bathroom stuff. Make sure it's DRY and clean off dust n stuff otherwise it won't work.

Use a wet finger to mould the sealant into the groove. It'll get everywhere, it always does.

I hope that's not true - both my cars are smothered in the stuff

TigerBond is a bit overkill TBH. I had a water leak around the OSR lamp on the Rover, and used Evo Stick clear silicone, with good results:
