Need help identifying 1930's ?

Was out to the pub with my Dad for a meal , seen this on the wall , having a hard time trying to identify, obviously small engine with the length of bonnet , lhd , would anybody like to help out , thanks

That picture is available as a generic print from the usual places.

I don't know what it is, but it looks British to me for some reason. A Hillman Minx is vaguely similar but not right, I don't think.

It's on Alamy. Their description is no help at all but it's a bit easier to make out the grille etc. The vent on the A pillar suggests Wolseley.

Artsy types regularly flip photos L to R for aesthetic* effect.. so your LHD could easily be RHD in reality...

Could it? Wouldn't the car just face the opposite way? Surely the steering wheel would still be nearest the door so it would remain LHD?

Yes but the nearest door would then be the "right" door so would look RHD

Shurely that vent? in front of the door before the bonnet is quite specific?

 

Only thing that jumps to my eye is the placement of the sidelight? indicator? On the front wing? Were they optional maybe? so put where whoever put em?

@jim89 The front sidelight is just visible under the chap's arm (left and blurry on the original shot but slightly clearer on the Alamy)

It is indeed but it's in a different place (nearer the headlight) on  your pic

@jim89 I agree with you.  Perhaps it is a 1933 Wolseley Hornet.  Very similar looking car but sidelight further from headlight.

I remember clearly a Hillman Minx, in a copy of CCC... I can't remember what it was advertising, but it was a page ad... LHD wheel (through the screen) and noo way was it Belgian!! 🤣
