On Monday i went to the car show in the village of Lavenham which near Sudbury in Suffolk.

It wasn't a bad show, I think last years was a bit better as there was more range of cars, This year it was all MG Owners, Mini Owners, Mercedes owners and Rolls Royce owners, all sitting in there little clicky groups on fold up chairs, You know the sort.

I read that next years should be better as they are moving the carnival from the field to make more room for cars.

This Mini was quite nicely done.

This must be rare being a standard 1300 Sport.

Posted Image

Even rare would be this 2 door 1100 which hasn't be changed into a Mexico yet.

Posted Image

Posted Image

I got a major stiffy over this 1600 Sport, It must be very rare in bronze.

Posted Image

There was a few of these old things burning about.

Posted Image

Posted Image

They let me display my car as well which had a lot of interest, Mrs Trigger wanted to take a photo with Alfie in it

Posted Image

Shite dreams are made of this.

Posted Image

Posted Image

This has just been restored, It's very clean.

Posted Image

Posted Image

The Autoshite reward would go to this, According to the owners burb on the screen it's one of only 40 Triumph 1300 left, I'm not sure about that myself.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

I thought GarethJ would like this, This 1958 Peerless GT has to be one of the best left, it was stunning.

This 5 Spd Vitesse was for sale for £3500

Interesting ice cream van.

The 88 year old owner has owned this since nearly new, He's an ex engineer who just makes parts for it when they need replacing it, The water pump broke so he made a brass one for it.

1941 GMC AFKX-352 Welding Workshop Truck

Posted Image

This is a Kenbrook Carrier, It's done as having a 2.4 diesel, I'm guess that's the York engine and it's based on a Transit?.

'Eclectic' mix with that C15 camper, the welding truck etc... love the Toad-bot.

Very eclectic! Mk1 Cortina estate for me please, or one of the Super Minxes...

A BROWN Cresta? You really are spoiling us!! :P

...and to see an original Cortina M1 estate that hasn't been f**ed about with is a rare treat aswell.

The 02 Touring just looks soooooo wrong with post 01 plates on it :?:?

yuck yuck yuck - spoiling what otherwise looks a well sorted car.:roll:

That brown Riley Kestrel won best Kestrel at the 1100/1300 club rally in 2009 I think - there's pictures of it on Flickr. Unfortunately it's been sitting outside since then - shame as it was immaculate a couple of years ago. I snapped it in March in a garden in North Essex along with loads of other 1100/1300's.

Here it is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hk11_yah/3 ... 078017046/

And here's my picture of it: Posted Image

The 1928 Talbot 14/45 (Toad of Toad Hall) belongs to someone on the Old Classic Car forum.

Excellent pics there. It might look like a fish, but I have much wantage for that Daimler SP250.

This week i have my photos from the Norfolk Gala day in Norwich.

As most of you might have seen i won 3rd best overall car at the show :oops:8) which was nice but here are the other cars that the judges decided weren't as good as mine

I can't recall ever seeing one of these at a show before, The current owner has had this since 1973 after paying £270 for it in auction during the fuel crisis.

These Rat Look cars look shit, I can't understand why anyone would feel the need to do this to their own car. twats.

and WTF has this got two different number plates on it?.

Posted Image

Posted Image

This XR3i was stunning, I love them in Pacific blue 8)

Posted Image

This Mk1 is a 3000 'S' Spec, I thought most of them were Ghia's.

This is the Ashes to Ashes car, It's a lot tattier then it looks in the photos, the bottom of the doors are rotten, the sunroof weatherstrip is all hanging out and the drivers seat booster has a big whole, and it wouldn't start niether.

The number plate is also of a Datsun, The proper plate ends on a 'Y' according to the tax disc.

The owner of this Minor Million wanted £7000 for it which seems very expensive.

I DO like that Laurel...just my cup of tea. Nice to see an early Sierra aswell...would have spent a while looking at that.

Posted

Great pics.

I'd have that Audi 100 Coupe S, stunning.

The "pink" Humber Sceptre, was that an original colour?

Posted

Fantastic shots Trigger, your camera is mighty impressive. I love the Sierras, and all those Granadas are tasty too. I also like the old Lorries on show there, that ERF in BRS livery is perfect.

I'm sure it was....I've seen Avengers the same. Shame about the completely wank graphics on it!

Thank you, It does take a good picture. :D

"Thanks for the cake, it was lovely, you must have a terrific oven..." Say what you mean, the man is a damn good photographer!

Posted

I love 'home made' towbars.

My Mum's Renault 20 had one, and like those examples above, you couldn't tell it was there......

Posted

Great photo's.

Its amazing how Ford managed to recreate the actual taste of gruel in the colour of that Sierra. Is so bland its not actually a colour, its an anti colour, the opposite of colour.

Posted

WOW!! So much to drool over! The Vanden Plas, obviously - just stunning! Love the Volvo P1800ES too, but the Sunbeam Stiletto is perhaps my fave. The Mk 1 Cortina estate looks like a beauty, but why is all the brightwork painted? Almost as mystifying as those God-awful rat-look heaps. Finally, is the rear panel/boot lid of that Ventora standard?

Posted

Finally, is the rear panel/boot lid of that Ventora standard?

Definitely not, that'll have been hand-built at some point in the car's past, probably when it wasn't very old. I like it...

Posted

Some lovely pics there. Brown Maxi for me please!

The A35 van actually soldiered on until 1968 in AV8 form, the very last ones were G reg! That C reg one is quite old really ;)

Particularly liked the petrol coupon freebie glasses on the fold-down picnic tables. Perfection hides in the details.
