Well while Ive been in NZ there has been a massive project being undertaken by a main radio station over here and I thought Ide share it with you back home!

 

The Rock's Drive show announcers, Robert Taylor and Jono Pryor were fed up with the ongoing battle between their listeners over who is mightier - Ford or Holden. Their solution? Create a car from scratch, taking the best bits from both camps. So "The Rock" introduces, The FOLDEN.

 

After 3 months, totalling over 800 man hours, involving 2 dozen or so businesses and upwards of 70 tradespeople, resulting in more than a handful of strained relationships, and an approximate spend of between $85,000-$95,000, it's finally completed and available to go up for auction on NZs "Trade Me" website.

 

All the parts were voted by the public each week to determine what went where.

 

The Folden is front half 1969 Ford Mustang, back half HQ Holden, the paint job is gun metal grey with orange racing stripes, Foose Coronet mag wheels and powered by a 302ci Ford engine.

 

Proceeds from the auction of The Folden will go to the NZ Mental Health Foundation for Out Of The Blue, an organisation set up to help combat depression in men.

 

This car has caused quite a stir here in NZ and the presenters and builders have gone through weeks of controversy, setbacks, sleepless nights, and even bomb threats from diehard Ford and Holden fans! Its serious shit over here!!!

Works for me except as said the wheels , With the painted lady as a passenger even better . Sold for a good cause too , It would need exporting out as soon as though , id imagine it would get vandalised over there as some hideous hybrid freak

The Holden v.Ford is a bogan aka antipodean chav war created out of the Bathurst race in Aussie..when the famous V8 GTs of both these marques got blown away by Turbo Bluebirds in the early 80s..they werent so glib then..and Ford have canned the Falcon now..so hopefully it will be Holden v.Holden soon...I once owned something similar to this..but it being a Holden ute..only the front doors bear any resemblance..

I started off my Bastard child thread not realising a pig islander had beat me, and it was built just about in my backyard
