That yard looks class. MG looks great in that pic too.

How much did they want for a pukka SoE? I worry that whatever you fit will get pinched again :(

The one on the green car was £200 but it was unfortunately bent quite badly, pics don’t show it

Thanks, my boyfriend bought it a few years ago, the seller wanted 900 but he got him down to 200 in the end, it was a complete basket case and we’ve both spent way too much getting up and together but for a 1.8 non turbo it has no right driving and handling as well as it does

Never say never, whist I have no plans to sell it any time soon I know what I’m like with motor vehicles, I’m 23 and this is my 42nd, but I have always lusted over a Shad since I was a young girl, I used to collect these Bond cars and mags when I was about 8 and the Shadow was always my favourite, I promised myself I’d own a real one one day obviously believing it’d never happen so to actually own one now even a tatty one is still a huge novelty and puts such a huge grin on my face and all the while it does that I’m keeping it

Catching up on this thread, loving the shadow

I've got more than a full set (I think) of those Bond cars in my loft, thanks to my late father-in-law. A man who'd collect literally anything and keep telling us "it'll be worth something one day"... I should probably persuade my wife it's time for them to find a new home

Time for a quick update I suppose

MG has now clocked up 2000 miles trouble free since replacing that euro car parts crank sensor, with a Discount MG Rover Spares one, just goes to show modern parts are absolutely awful

IMG_0924.jpeg.9c0dc1a19b682ec8569a174159eb1d42.jpeg

it has developed a knock from the passenger side front though so that’s next on the priority list

not too much progress on the Rolls to report,

I've fitted the door card from Westminster spares without dying it because I was get annoyed with not having one on the car

IMG_0890.jpeg.218b9b2f673aa4b7c23864c2a4a0a5ee.jpeg

I’ve been driving it almost every day for the last month as since getting my promotion at work I felt it was necessary to arrive in style lol  much to the dismay of my bank balance, and it’s not been too bad, it does have a tendency to run a little lumpy in traffic so I suspect it a full coolant flush is needed, annoyingly it isn’t fitted with a Temp gauge which is one of my automotive pet hates on old cars.

I did finally get around to filling the dash pots, topping up the power steering fluid and changing the oil though so it’s running a little better now IMG_0917.jpeg.ea136dbabeb5d27a2204754c00242582.jpeg

I also got a chance last week to get out in convoy with a friend from work in his lovely P4

IMG_0915.jpeg.bc01ec1fefe7000617edca97b54e0333.jpeg

IMG_0914.jpeg.ea93b02e2fc859af7c3b8bf67cf4a3fc.jpeg

they looked so lovely together though it was a little funny watching him dart through all the tight single track country roads whist I carefully manoeuvred my absolute land yacht through

I had to drive up to Chichester the other day so I took that opportunity to pop over to Rolls Royce for a picture

IMG_0934.jpeg.28cfb3ba0f988f82dfdf233d79c58e85.jpeg

on that same day there was a parcel waiting for me when I got home

IMG_0926.jpeg.048a3debc36e8c97743300ab4268c58a.jpeg

my replica silver lady from Indonesia , very good quality actually and very heavy, the plan is to get it welded on at some point

Yesterday was a fun day too, took the Shad to 2 separate meets, one in Chichester

IMG_0947.jpeg.2c7ee1575d774e3b7d62df2b46a94780.jpeg

Which was all fun and games until the boot decided it no longer wanted to shut, so bungee cords to the rescue, once home I discovered the bottom latch had slipped down so after bringing that up and back into place and making sure the bolts were tight it now latches and locks perfectly again!

Later in the day @calebaaront came over and asked if he could drive the Shad so I took that as an opportunity to chill in the back seat for a while. Such a lovely place to be IMG_0942.jpeg.0887a49d4c454f9bf918141027453474.jpeg

then we finished the day off by taking part in the Southsea Cruise they do once a month

I've used this product in the past to recolour door cards (vinyl) and seats (leather) on a MK2 Jag and the results were quite good.  You can send them a sample of the colour (an small piece cut from under a seat etc.) and they will colour match.

https://www.kolorbond.co.uk/vinylkote-paint-leather-vinyl/

Not sure how well it wears as I don't use my cars much but the first one was done about 8 years back and still looks good.

Might be worth considering for the door card.

Watched Cannonball Run and am even more gutted that I was too slow to get this one - I'd have the spotlights on in no time!

A car on my fleet can’t just sit around looking pretty, if it wants to stay it needs to earn its keep, So today was the Rolls’ time to shine, literally! It had its first prom in my ownership today! It handled it brilliantly and the 2 girls loved it, slowly but surely earning its money back

Well that’s insurance on the Royce sorted for another year, I’m still in shock at how cheap this thing is to insure, 23 year old living in the centre of Portsmouth with on street parking £163

for those curious as to why it’s up for renewal already, I swapped it over from the Austin, crazy to think I bought that and started this thread a year ago

So after constantly fighting to keep my MG on the road and especially after last nights break down I’ve made the executive decision to buy another car as a daily as the MG just can’t be trusted anymore

So I’m off on a collection caper tonight

V6, big comfy car, more to be revealed soon

Since selling my 2.0 A6 2 years ago I always wanted another as it was a brilliant car. This has been religiously serviced by Audi practically all its life and being on 210,000 it’s just broken in, hopefully it can handle being my new daily

I hope so too. Right now it’s going to sit in the car park and think about what it’s done whist I hatch a plan to get it to the garage

So I was just looking through my old photos of cars I’ve owned in the past and I noticed I had owned a few 206’s 1 SW and 2 hatchbacks, unfortunately I never took a picture of my 1st hatchback but I owned it in around 2011/12 it was a red 1.1 base spec 3 door with the grey bumpers a little digging on google and I came across this pic of an identical carIMG_0280.thumb.jpeg.e6efb507efeb83a3feeca0d1633bcb9b.jpeg

looking a bit closer shows it has a boot lock with a key, nothing unusual about that but looking at my silver hatch shows it to not have a key lock i also don’t think I’ve ever seen another 206 in person with a key lock

IMG_0281.thumb.jpeg.02d2a671537c07174a86883d77fb7ab0.jpeg

IMG_0283.thumb.jpeg.e437aabe587e9b13af12810ec7817612.jpeg

so thinking back to it my red hatch in 2011 definitely had a key lock because I specifically remember snapping the key off in the boot, so purely for my own interest I’m trying to figure out when they changed to no key lock, I believe my red hatch was a 1998/99 on an S reg which would have made it a really early car, was it maybe a press car only thing? I’ve seen a very early 206 at the Coventry motor museum without a key lock, do any 206 nerds have an answer? I know this has literally no importance whatsoever but I’m just curious as it seems like a strange thing to just get rid of, I mean if your central locking mechanism dies on your 206 you have no way of getting into the boot 🤷🏻‍♀️

We can now revive this post as thanks to @SEATMad’s post on the EBay tat thread

Now I can officially start a register of official bASe 206’s with boot locks

what a momentous day!

Now we need to hatch a plan to save this example! Does anyone who’s local mind taking a look at it for me please? I’ll obviously compensate you for your troubles also I’d need someone to keep it safe until I can collect it? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Actually, you can have a qwiksilver boot liner and some OEM mudflaps, plus whatever else I have kicking about

I had a 206 with unpainted black plastic bumpers but cannot remember if it had a boot lock; WL54 FKA I'm sure it was.

Has to be snapped up for £500 and saved. It's also the 1.9 diesel.

My favourite thing about these is they have a none rev counter binnacle designed just for that specific model. Peugeot went the extra mile to make sure you knew you were a cheapskate!

Lovely colour on this, I can't remember what it was called. I can just about make out the Dutton Forshaw dealer plates front and rear, that's a good sign. Would this early base model still have the secret compartment under the passenger front seat cushion that my mum's W reg 206 LX had?

This is one of the things I’d really like to find out, it was so long ago we had our bASe 206 so I obviously don’t remember how much it differed from a slightly higher spec example

i really hope we can save this example

Also since this is the official start of the bASe 206 register I just want to remind everyone if you happen to see a Peugeot 206 with non body colour  bumpers and a separate boot lock in the UK please let me know any information about it, reg number or general location would be amazing!

If the seats are anything like a 106, you can retrofit that secret compartment, it was a base model special on those too.

So since my secret new car has now been outed on Facebook I thought I’d announce it here too! 😳😂

So the original plan was to buy another classic mini but after popping round to see my parents the other day my dad expressed interest in selling his beetle, he’s spent tens of thousands on it upgrading the engine to a 1600, racing carbs, obviously the US spec bumpers and tail lights, basically the list goes on and so long story short I made him an offer and now I have a very fast beetle, I’d call it a sleeper but most people already expect a Herbie to be going fast 😂

here’s a few pics of me at a local show the other day

yes it’s not one for the purists especially considering it’s the wrong year for staters but it’s a car I desperately lusted over as a kid so it’s nice to make that childhood dream a reality finally
