Oh and fair play, she has done a cracking job and obviously put a lot of effort/cash in to making her dream car.I just don't think I could send it to Cumbria after all that!

£8.5K to get it how it was when it rolled off the Longbridge production line?? And then never driven it? Hells teeth.:shock::shock:

Disappointed Louise. I was expecting your car and you wearing a silly hat or something.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.....Did anyone else notice, she's 45 and the husband is 70.I bet he thought he was marrying a right little nymph, except all he got was a strange woman, with bizarre tastes in cars.

Posted

Yeah I agree, total waste if it isn't going to get used."I wish I could take to the roads in it but cannot risk it getting scratched or damaged" What's the point then

I was hoping for hot Louise content!I wonder who really paid for it bearing in mind she's 45 and he's 70.

I reckon they should get that old boat of Admiral Lord Nelsons back out on the high seas. Fugging WASTE just sat there on display. And all those old tanks down at Bovington museum. What's the point? If they're not out on manouvers they might as well be scrapped.

Obviously didn't want a massive, overwhelming anti-climax.

\LOLZ/I wonder how exaggerated the 8.5k is as well. You could probably buy the entire car in parts for less than that, with a paint job, etc.

Posted

I think that's ace. If it weren't for people like her we'd probably never see something like that.

This will be Louise when she is older.

Or you with the Maxi

Very true!

Looks a nice Allegro, each to their own and all. Seems a shame not to use it though. And she could have found a better museum to rehome it in

Posted

She should donate it to Autoshite.:lol::lol:

strange woman, strange choice of car  over 9k spent (including purchase) and whats it worth?2k? 3k to an obsessive?care in the community  wonder what she drives as a daily?

Posted

Her car, her rules? Jeez. Anyone would think she'd crushed the thing with some of the responses here.

Posted

I'd just want to touch it everyday after all that. How can she send it away? How can she!!!!!!!!

Posted

I've got to agree with Cav, I think it's great that someone's taken the trouble to do this. You certainly won't see another one.And anyway, who are we to call her mad? Some people on here like Tagoras

Posted

Yep, its an ace car & fair play to her & all that, its just that I'd want to drive it all day everyday.

I've always believed that there is a cherished example of pretty much every make and model of car somewhere in the world. This is an extreme example, but it does appeal to the OCD side of me.

I'm sure this is probably true. At least I hope it is.

I think its great that it isn't used. Its the one pristine example needed for future generations to appreciate* while the likes of us drive our cars into the ground. Better that it goes to a museum than it is kept hidden away in a garage for no one to see.*or not as the case may be

I must admit at this point that I didnt read the whole article & thought she was just going to squirrel it away in her garage. No problem with it going to a museum.
