i never understood how places with a LOT colder/snowery climate than us can do away with salt, where as if we get 3 flakes its OMGSNOKAOS and they throw the salt about like saltbae

Salt is widely used in Sweden, more in the south than in the north, it loses its effect when temperature falls below around - 7 degrees. 

The island of Gotland has not been salted since the mid eighties.

Been up to the North of Sweden. Lots of old cars there. This is a picture from Dorotea and this is the way it is,  around 50% of the vehicles are quite old. The Saab had its last MOT in 2004… but still going strong.

This Saab 99 is a daily driver, all year round. It’s from 1970 so it has the infamous Triumph engine. The 9000 is a CSE 2,3 Turbo from 1998 in really nice condition.
