Probably just a couple of slip-ups but the 'CF's' are actually HA's & the 'Mk3' Cortina is a Mk5.Nice spots, all the old and / or derelict vehicles I knew of locally seem to have vanished over the past few years :(

'V' plate Maestro is probably a Ledbury Maestro as these were around later.2CV van for me please!

Yes, MGF wheels are direct fit to Maestro & Monty, plus you can get them to work on a spitfire / dolomite / marina with some simple mods.

Imp on the trailer has to be the one in Walker, just opposite that garage that sells all of those Grey import Subaru Sambas that are done up to look like Wolseley 1500s or ¾ scale VW campers.Must put up a spots post of my own piccies sometime, there's a shedload of decent, old shite around the region; Renault 16 on Shields fish quay, FD Victor in Blyth, 3 Toledos in the Guide Post & Sheepwash areas, 2cv on stands outside a house in Guide Post, minus chassis and everything forward of the bulkhead. It's maybe 'cos we're all far too tight up here to run newer cars? Great pics, ta for sharing.

Your right about the Imp,ive also got the Renault 16 at the fish quay & the 2cv in Guide Post in one of my previous threads ,this was when it was still a complete car - i drove past it a few weks ago and it looked like there had been a fire under the bonnett,i'd say that thing is ripe for a trike conversion right now

There was, and might still be, a MK4 facelift one that lived on a drive in Blyth, close to the town centre. ISTR that it was blue, with something written along its flanks. "CORTINA", I think it said..... There's a MK3 in Berwick, just off to the left, before you hit the bridge as you approach from the South. In Gene Hunt Gold with brown vinyl roof, it's a bit of a twenty yard car, but is in use and doesn't appear rusty, even at less than those twenty yards.Must set aside a day to put together more of the North East's rich variety of shite in pictures. It's not that long since a late Cortina was still doing private hire work in Ashington where, even now, a couple of Sierras and at least one MK3 Cav still earn their keep that way.1971/72 Volvo 144 DL auto in red, a regular at Asda's car park in Ashington.1983/84 Volvo 340DL with interesting, riveted repairs to several structural areas, lives a few yards from here, must start waving once I get my 340 home. :lol:198? (Irish plate) Hyundai Stellar parked on an Ashington driveway beside a pair of Land Rovers........Must go a-huntin'. :D

Here's another Cortina in Consett:

Believe it or not in the 80's there was talk of an airport,or rather a small airfield for light aircraft being built on the site of the former British steel plate mill at Hownsgill,a short distance from the town centre, but like so many other things in Consett it turned out to be nothing more than talk.
