Apparently in proper controlled circumstances, it is documented as helping (which I vaguely remembered but doubt my memory on). However, it's also documented that prolonged recreational use can /cause/ forms of colourblindness. Either way, I do not endorse any form of self harm such as recreational drug use or Rover 800 ownership. MrBig, angle, adw1977 and 2 others 5

I will say that this Rover has lead to me going sober and giving up drink. It looks the same when I'm sober as it does when I've had a drink. So why should my liver suffer as well as my mind? MrBig 1

Kept slowing to see where it was (with the roof open it was concerning that I couldn't see it!). Turned out the newish Jeep Wrangler's rear differential had failed. Was it an old Top Gear mag or something "when I drive my Cavalier at 120mph there's a strange whistling sound" "We suggest looking in the mirror to see if the sound is accompanied by a large white car behind you and some flashing blue lights on its roof" St.Jude, High Jetter, LightBulbFun and 1 other 4
chodweaver Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago When it last ran... And ran for a couple of minutes... And then there was a burning smell after you'd blipped the throttle... I'm clutching at straws here but, could this be one of those cars that ends up getting all of its earth for circuits, like the ignition, through the throttle cable when the engine/gearbox etc earth strap has failed? That would explain intermittent running, and when it did run for long enough, the throttle cable protested by getting very hot with all the current?

I didn’t feel the throttle cable getting hot tbh, as that I’ve never blipped it with the pedal. I’ve always been at the engine bay. There are 9 earth points I think from memory. I am going to check these again (I assume I’ve done this but I don’t trust my work either tbh) before anything comes off.
