A lot of Triumph press and works cars had VC plates.

I was thinking exactly the same. A lot of early 2000 press cars had the VC plates (KV and VC being Coventry of course)

I know 8734 VC was a 2000 in white with a black roof but it doesn't seem to have made it to the Internet. Then there were the works Vitesses for the Monte Carlo rallye.

It just looks wrong on a Rover! I'm sure Solihull must have had their own registrations.
