According to Derek Bell filming was chaotic as they had to match scenes to the weather, and make sure the cars had the right amount of grime on them to show they had been racing for hours.

Some of the driving was tricky as they were usually not filming with the tyres warmed up. 

He had a lucky escape when the Ferrari he was driving burst into flames, but managed to escape with minor burns.

David Piper was not so lucky. His race career was ended during filming when the Porsche 917 he was driving crashed and he lost part of his leg.
