Ah quit whining, you could have stopped at Morrisons on the way and picked up a pack of Fox's "Sports" Biscuits and a Razzle.Dunno what you'd do about Lenny Henry though, suppose you could just wait until Red Nose Day, can't get rid of him around then.

Good work Hirst, this thread now appears to have regained some sort of normality.

Oh and RBJ, I'd appreciate you keeping your condesending comments to yourself. (Meaning the ones directed at myself after my last post)Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because it's not in line with yours - doesn't make yours correct and theirs not.

Of course - providing you extend me the same courtesy. If you throw that 'typical BMW driver' nonsense at me, I will retaliate.Have a pleasant evening. :D

They're never going to sort out the phantom brake problem, but I firmly believe that Artics should not be allowed to overtake during busy periods - easily managed with all the cameras and sensors on the motorway and dot matrix signs, raising the speed limit on a clear dry motorway to 90 mph, and introducing a motorway test for anyone caught tailgating / brake testing / lane hogging.

A nice idea, but it will never happen, just like the law will never clamp down on all the cretins driving with their front foglights on. There's no money to be made, so it's a non starter.Look on the M1 now and there are now plenty of yellow average speed cameras up with "camera not in use' signs. What this means is that once they are switched on, no matter what you drive, you'll all be doing 70 mph. That's when I start using the A1 along with other A and B roads.

"BMW FOR SALE"

- abit of interest and banter

- a story involving a BMW

- abit of keyboard warrior

- classic debate

- reminder of topic

I enjoy watching how some threads go :)

Good luck with the sale.

Ooh btw ... there is a BMW FOR SALE

Posted

a BMW for sale? Nice! What is it?BMW's are generally driven by cnuts btw, which is nice!I'd have it in an instant but I'm facing the wrong way

I don't get what you mean - what's wrong with 70 when it's being properly enforced? It is the legal maximum in this country, like it or not, even if your vehicle is cabable of comfortably travelling at more.

I get what he means - he thinks the road is his personal race track and anyone not doing as he does is an arsehole! Shame that it is actually the other way round!I have the problem in that I agree with much of the sentiment but not with the arrogant way it is put across and the implication that it is OK to do 120mph on a road where the limit is 50mph less than that! Mind you, twelve points = a ban, so with luck he won't be on the road for too long.Maybe if the Right Rev. also spent some time in the inside lane, he'd find it rutted, in poor condition and his car tram-lining down said ruts! There are times when a higher speed is appropriate but overly excessive speed is ALWAYS dangerous, especially when, despite what the Right Rev. says about mirrors, the expectation of a car hurtling down the overtaking lane at 120mph is nil, because, after all, none of us should be doing it.

Having done over 180mph on a deserted A12 once I am quite happy for the speed limit to drop to 50mph because I'm now a big scaredy-cat

depends on what you did 180 in! Interestingly, on the autobahns, there is often a daytime speedlimit and an evening speedlimit. On the two lane autobahns I was on, about 130km/h was the maximum until about 7pm at night, when it became derestricted. That made sense, but I doubt it would work in the UK as we have too many people who would use it as a race track rather than as a means of getting from A-B quickly. The germans also have 100-102ron fuel for sale too at their petrol stations - lovely stuff!

If Rev BJ starts doing 90 on a A or B road regularly, he will die or get banned soon enough.

Aah, the six fingered Gloucester halfwit returns.........with the usual predicatable insults. Arsehole eh? Oh well.Exactly where did I or anyone else say it's okay to do 120 mph? Not me, nor anyone else. If however you have a problem with me driving faster than you, I suggest you write a strongly worded letter to the Mirror. In the meantime, get a life FFS.

So ...Have you had any interest in the BMW ?or is that the most stupid question on earth , and i should join in with the mad but slightly fun arguing ?

Oh, are you referring to me, I'm not from Gloucester, I just live near there! Being a Johnny Foreigner in your little country, I sometimes don't understand comments about the mirror - is it some kind of looking glass?Last time I looked too, I had eight fingers, plus a couple of thumbs. I'm sure having six would mean I could count up to twelve, which is the number of points you need to get a driving ban!Pete-M, sorry if your thread has been hi-jacked!

Autoshite is funny enough without needing the sort of wanky argumentitive bollocks that has been a'happenin in the last couple of weeks. If the Rev wants to hoon along at 90 let him, I will remember to wave and be content with my lot as he flies past my shed-on-wheels.

The bit were the Rev Blowjob had a fight with Johnno. I liked that the best. :D

Thanks! How this started was with the usual 'all BMW/Audi drivers are idiots' from the usual socially inept candidates who have probably never sat in a nice car let alone owned one. Then the self righteous '70 is fast enough' crew joined in, followed by someone who is old enough to know better.Still, it's entertainment!Btw, the BMW I'll be hooning past in at a scandalously irresponsible and highly dangerous 90 is going to be either a 1988 E a 1996 P plate. £1000 will probably buy the pair. If anyone wants to feel threatened by that, well..............

The only interesting thing about this thread is that it has cleverly avoided falling foul of Godwin's Law. I mean, 8 pages of utter bollocks, stupid slagging off and self-rightous panning of the self-rightous and no-one's mentioned the Nazis yet!

Oh shit.

Oh God! I wondered when the Nazi's would get a look in.All Nazi's are cnuts especially the ones that drive Mercedes

Not really, but hey, it's fun anyway. Someone offered me an FTO for it this afternoon, and some bloke from Aberdeen offered £700, cash tomorrow, but I'm not haggling £300 off end of story, never mind before the person offering sees the car.I'm not that bothered to be honest, if it doesn't sell I'll use if for another six months.
