Drive it day

I loved taking my old motor out on today’s drive it day, the highlight of the day was this delightful 1956 Austin A30.  I love MOT except.

I honestly didn't know it was drive-it day today. Took the MX5 out for a run anyway, purely because it was a sunny Sunday.

I gave the Dyane a blast for a couple of hours.  The new engine is running-in nicely.

I didn't know it was drive it day either! Did take the Renault 25 to Aldi and then Asda, this morning, though. Less than a mile away.

Ironically yesterday I didn’t drive any of the classics, as we went to the zoo and they have loads of great parking and free charging for electric vehicles right by the entrance, rather than getting the kids out somewhere in the back of beyond in the overflow car park! So we took my wife’s modern so we could park closer… 😂

I was going to go out a drive anyway, but took the 240. Did a 70 odd mile circuit, but never really saw anything else of interest except a couple of Capris on a trailer.

I drove about in the allegro without realising it was “drive it day” as I’m usually pottering about in something old/crusty/decaying most days

I did think there was an unusual amount of chod on the road yesterday, I encountered a few old BMWs and a Golf with matching custom plates being anti-social in a car park in Hamworthy as well! I took part accidentally as I think my only UK based car counts as a classic, or near enough.

I was having a bit of a "I hate all my cars" day yesterday so 0 miles were driven. I was looking at brand new BINIs on lease through work... but I think I've got over it now.
