Hey, anyone fancy this 250k-mile Primera 1.6? Its in Spain like and has no tax or MOT so you'll have to sort that out logistically. Oh theres a free trailer stuck on the back, just to make sure you're paying top dollar for your ferry ticket too.

To be fair, P10 Primeras are pretty GR10, I've had a few of them so far.

£3k does seem a bit steep. I reckon it'll probably get between £1700-£2100 though if there's someone out there who'd want a mint Mk1 Fizzy.

The "Old Skool Ford Tax"* doesn't tend to apply to stuff like poverty spec Fiestas as there's not a huge number of people out there who rate 'em. It's the same with 1.8 / 2.0 / 2.3 Granadas, 1.3 / 1.6 Cortina Mk3/4/5s etc, they weren't much fun so why would you want one? **

I'm a bit of an old Ford apologist, but I wouldn't pay more than £500 for that Fizzy as I don't want it, and don't have a better one that needs a shell.

* I don't think it's a tax when it's applied to Mk1/2 2dr, good spec Escorts.

** Other than Autoshiters...

For 3k you're looking at a mint XR2 or Supersport, for 2k a limited edition version, that one for sale 1500 tops, even then it's getting the right buyer, at £3500 it'll never sell, even a dealer wouldn't sell one at this sort of price, it'll end up eventually being sold to someone who'll do the usual works - roll cage and zetec engine.

Hey this is nice:

Lots of shitty ones of these knocking about, this one looks a KRAKKA though. Only £400 at the moment with a day and a bit left. I'd love one of these.

That's a rebadged Eunos 500, if I recall those 2.0 V6s like blowing their headgasket or failing emissions or something like that. Me and Vic got a GE-generation 626, which is basically the "ordinary" version. All good fun until you find out a set of rear brake cables cost nearly a ton, what the! Cheers Mazda.

Mazda certainly got their money's worth out of that chassis, they also made the absolutely beautiful Efini MS-8:

And the Autozam Clef, which you can take or leave:

And the Ford Telstar, which certainly exists:

I'd quite like an R12. I reckon with a nice set of wheels they look pretty fit. However, I'd doubt that the 'minor repairs needed for MOT' would entail less than 100 hours slaving over a hot welder and a few weeks of searching for hard to find parts. Shame.

Lets have a few more piles of shite from the snappily-titled Societe Industrielle de Mecanique et Carosserie (industrial company of mechanicals and bodywork)

Early Mk3 Astra SRi estate! I really like the look of this, in spite of not having the greatest luck with '90s Vauxhalls recently and writing them off as crap to drive.

Fuck me vicar, that's magic. The hatchback ones are rare now, really can't be many estates left and that's a bloody good price imho. Wonder if he sold it through the back door or something?

Towbar, lugging room, 2.0 8v, Si grey/black interior, crazy early 90's OE wheel trims - what more could you want?!

Posted

They even had their own engine! Can't remember exact specifics but I think they were the 114BHP 2.0 engines with slightly altered internal to boos the power up a bit.

They would have been better off chucking the 130 motor in imho.
