The Queen Mother in Provence 1965

A bit of follow up on NLT 6

For the last four decades of the twentieth century the State Cars were all Rolls-Royce Phantoms. In 1962 the Queen Mother likewise purchased a Rolls-Royce Phantom V (a landaulette in the royal colours) to serve as her No.1 official car (registered NLT 6, later NLT 1), which she continued to use until she died in 2002.[3] In 1970 she bought the first of a series of Daimler DS420 limousines (each one painted 'claret and black' and registered NLT 2) which served through the rest of her life as her No.2 car: conveying her suite on more formal occasions, and used as her main car for less formal engagements.

I'm sure I read the Queen Mum had an Austin 3-Litre but I may have dreamt that.

I think they had blocks of reg marks reserved, the  LT was for London Transport

Oh yeah no doubt about that, hence why I pointed it out, as its not often you come across another vehicle in such registration series's when London Transport took most of em!

other Routemaster blocks like that was WLT301-WLT999 (RM1000 had the unique registration 100BXL) and 1CLT-600CLT

although not all had LT in them 601DYE to 865DYE for example (which meant RM1666 had the registration mark 666DYE which always amused me :) )

and all of the suffix marks RM blocks are just standard London issues

the Boris buses have custom issued LTZxxxx registration marks which was a nice touch, just a shame the buses themselves are a shame on the Routemaster name!

I do wonder if in 10-20 years time we will see those transfered off the vehicles or not as they reach the end of their service life with TfL, like how Routemasters themselves where robbed of their marks in the 1980's

A bit cheeky this one, but there's posters for a Wartburg and a Skoda on the wall!

It's one of UVATERV's offices in Budapest District V., Hungarian People's Republic, 1972. UVATERV were responsible for the design of transport infrastructure in Hungary (railway stations etc) so I guess the posters were for decoration.
