It is an L, the most obvious giveaway is the wheels are not painted black around the vent holes.

Ah yes, you're right about that. I didn't think it was an L because two 2 mirrors, but I guess that was an option? And square headlights were standard on an L by this stage?

Yes, square headlights on L from late 1978 and the passenger door mirror was an option.
