This is cheap for one of these in good condition but hasn't been on the road in 20+ years but that shouldn't be a problem for a model A. Want this so much.

1930 Ford model A  6251 pounds

I had one identical to that in about 2003-2005. Lovely old cars

Model A is one of my dream cars and they are so nice to look at, the only thing that worries me is that they are a bit special to drive when used to newer cars so not sure if I would enjoy driving one.

As far as pre-war cars go, these are quite civilised but they drive as you would expect, slow, ponderous and with heavy controls. They are soon mastered and once you realise they are not like a modern car - your Merc I would class as modern here - they are a great deal of fun and addictive. If you get the chance to drive a pre war car, take it. If you make it to Scotland, you are welcome to try one of my Royces.
