Yes it was and still is on ice vehicles. Before, the requirements were a little simpler and the only requirement to be a van was that it had a maximum of 3 seats and had room for a box of a certain size if I remeber correct. Which also led to some distinctive Norwegian conversions such as high roof conversions on cars like the Lada Niva and Honda CRV, Suzuki Grand Vitara and more to have the space to fit that box.

And that Mercedes is unusually high spec for a van so I wonder what the backstory on it is.
