It’s the only reason it’s survived.

That far north = that cold = no point salting the roads

It’s no coincidence so many cars in this thread got X, Y or Z plates (registered in the very northernmost districts).

Thought the inspection was every two years? Or have I misunderstood what this refers to?

You can register a classic car as preservation and then there are 5 years between mot and when over 50 there are none.

There has been a lot of discussion around this and several people are afraid that cars registered in this way will have restrictions on use in the future.

My take on this is that the EU makes MOT so strict that they force old cars on to this so that they can eventually give them strict restrictions on use.

Not being funny, but Norway’s not in the EU? Or does being part of the single market (which I assume it is) means the vehicles need compliance?

after they voted out some things stayed as they were for convenience

it just happens to be called eu kontrolle :D

Norway is not a member, but unfortunately we are a member of something I don't know what it's called in English that is involved with the eu.

And even though we are not full members, we have a habit of following most of their stupidity.
