I owned the Metro for about 2days after I rescued it from the scrapyard then gave it to my friend. Dunno about the wheels, dunno much about the car at all. It never ran. My car however was fantastic fun, handled ok and had the alloy wheels off a coupe.

X2 Saloon was based on an earlier Mitsubishi Lancer, even the piddly 1.3 engine is from a Colt AFAIK. I had a mate remap the ecu thingy, got 120 mph out of it once. downhill. strong tailwind. lots of air in the tires.

There's still quite a few of those saloons around here - we have had a Hyundai dealer here for donkeys. An ex GF of mine had three of those saloons in a row, all of them around the 300 quid mark from auction. Number 2 was indeed a number two, forever running out of electricity. I/we killed it by towing it with my V8 Discovery, pulling out the front part of the subframe-thing.
