Sorry you feel like that - I just happen to disagree with most of the posts from the people you mention and the aggressive tone they adopt.

I've got a good idea, how about:a) Stop reading arguments where they don't exist, nobody else here has a problem with these fine gentlemen.ORb) Play niceORc) Naff offNobody's forcing you to be here.Pog, if you don't think that any of these cars are shite, try turning up to a Surrey golf club in one :D You'd have more chance being let in driving the Wolseley

Always liked the early BMW E3 saloons, maybe not that obscure but hardly big sellers.

Or for the more dictatorially minded, how about the shopkeeper's Mercedes?

Thanks for the advice. The "laid back" atmosphere is much appreciated. :D

Sometimes, to preserve the laidback atmosphere, we need to have a go at tedious cunts like you.

Anyway, I think this would be great to cruise about in:

Good call on the 5T, I would do anything, possibly even murder for one in of those in good nick.

I like how somebody has spent a lot of time carefully making the wheelarches look a bit shit on those Audis.

 What's going on with that notchback version? It looks awful.

I don't know how we've got this far without the Rapport Ritz. A Honda Accord with hand-built face-lift.

Those Rapport Ritz are truly ultra shite. I would be seriously amazed if there is any still around though.

Heres another weirdo 'Cheap car turned into classy car with the benefits of plastic and colour'

Sir, I shall see your Avon Acclaim and raise you a VDP All-Aggro!

Checkmate

The Wood and Picket conversion cost £11,000 (on top of the car price) back in the eighties, which is mad. Anyone know of any still around? Even 12 years ago they were apparently nearly dead.

Wood and Pickett were responsible for my blue Range Rover. Janspeed turbo'd engine (300+ bhp), Pimped dash, bit more walnut, fibreglass roof cover (to keep wind noise down, it actually worked), rear mounted spare wheel, light guards, uprated suspension, flared wheel-arches, one piece tailgate, comedy 80's bull bars. I'm sure they went belly up in the late '80s but have resurfaced in the last few years doing pimp bits for BMW minis (hey, this is almost on-topic).

The conversions on the Rangie came to about £15k back in '87, on top of the price of a full spec Vogue. So it was a £43k Rangie when the list price was £28k I think.

The Rangie, at play.

I've got some interior pics somewhere, but can't remember whereabouts on the interweb I put them.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned these.

Wood and Pickett confuse me, they did some pretty tasteful conversions on some cars, like your old RR and that SD1, but then some pretty OTT ones like that mental Metro in an intense shade of red.

Ah, that all depended on how much money you gave 'em.If you paid enough, they'd do whatever you could think of. As the kind of people who had plenty of disposable wedge to throw at coachbuilt Rangies in the mid to late '80s tended to be slightly flash, so did the cars.Mine was built for an engineer I know, and he specced it up to be an engineers car. So it was faster, better equipped, better handling and quieter. The pimped dash wasn't an extreme one, but it made room for more dials and a glovebox, and put the radio in a more realistic place. If he'd wanted a shower cubical or fruit machine, and was willing to pay, W&P would have done it. They did convertibles, 6 door jobs, limos, whatever.

The Alfa 6 happened earlier in the thread.

I love how this started with proper high end (if not 'desirable') continental berline, and had an Allegro VDP by page 7. Regression to the Autoshite mean! On which note, I can't believe nobody has mentioned this:

phwoaaaar Tagora SX. Beats everything else on this thread hands down. the ultimate car in every way.(BTW Pete, the pic above the red Alfa isn't working)

Brammy W&P went belly up in the mid 80's, then Henleys bought the ashes and made some beauties.... Brammy I'll start a new thread.... My shift partner opposite was a W&P apprentice, 99EFC was Eddie Francis Collins personal wheels at one point.

And most of those Aronline WP scans are mine!
