mk2_craig Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Possible source of RWD Escorts with no OSF tax (but probable hefty repatriation costs): http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8465785.stm
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 The Escort Isle!I assume they're LHD?
FredTransit Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As it's a British colony, I would have thought they are RHD, hard to decide from this pic.
Richard Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As it's a British colony, I would have thought they are RHD, hard to decide from this pic.RHD wipers for sure.
Guest Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Dot in the oceanThe remote island where Ford Escorts go to die"Ireland?" - Hirst, this morning, on the BBC News site
Milford Cubicle Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 You'll be lucky, it's full of 2030 Hirst rides like Nissan Tiida and Hyundai Accent saloons.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As it's a British colony, I would have thought they are RHD, hard to decide from this pic. I wondered whether they'd imported them from South Africa, forgetting that SA is also RHD
trigger Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 You haven't got to drive whilst your out there, You can hire a driver for the day!
Pete-M Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 That Transit is RHD, so I imagine the Escorts would be.Oh, angonamo. Is that an impending K series HGF I see in the background?
trigger Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Strangely most of the cars seem to be Right hand drive English cars after a quick google search. No idea what this is.
Mr Lobster Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Mate of my Dad has just got a job out there for a couple of years, he is exporting his car so he has it out there. I was reading about St Helena over Christmas, looks a really interesting place. Long way from anywhere though.
FredTransit Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 You haven't got to drive whilst your out there, You can hire a driver for the day! Bloody ell an original bull nose, bit it's still a perky too!
morris_ital_lover Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 The kit car looks like a marlin to me.m0rris
Torsten2001 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 What's the red car with the registration 718? A Sao or Mazda?
Torsten2001 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Well done! Would that have come from South Africa?
Vin Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Looks an interesting place, not what I imagined going from the piccies...A friend of Papa_Vin is currently the Guvnor of St Helena. He's also had a stint in the same role on the Falklands. Sounds quite glamorous but apparently it's like being head of the local council and all that brings with it.One of the main reasons he went, was to oversee the building of the new airport. I'm sure he's a bit narked off with all the current goings on....
