Gypsy Creams!I thought these were long gone on account of their political incorrectness. I haven't seen them in the shops for years but my boss's wife brought a Fox's tin of biccies in today and there were some in it - needless to say I swiped them :P A bit of searching on t'internet reveals they are chocolate fudge crunch creams - how bland.I shall be purchasing some forthwith, however.

Would M and S stock them as "Irish Fantasy Bakes" or summat equally as stupid?I still think Viz got it right with their rendition of "Thieving Gipsy Bastards" which in turn had to be apologised for.......Tunnocks Caramel biscuits. Now they're top class shit man.....

Like eating yesteryear, these always taste really stale but I love the Tunnocks, as for their Teacakes-the original and the best.I've been eating Malted Milk and also Nice biscuits though I am partial to a Party Ring.My all time favourite is the humble custard cream, a 2-ply biscuit is a must for extra dunking time and there must be at least five ways in which to each aforementioned biccy...all of which involve the mouth.

Maryland choc chip cookies for me, or Fox's Classics if I'm feeling flush! :D

dear Gods....biscuit fanatics..................hide quick, before they destroy all the food that the old people need to survive on..................................................

This is Autoshite, the only biscuits should be a few soft wholemeal digestives in a dust of long-dead custard creams. The Autoshite Christmas Quality Street tin would be a similar theme - a sea of toffee pennies, with a limited number of toffee fingers if you spend a whole minute digging for them.

For all your biscuit needs might I recommend this. There is some slight dissing of Austin Maxis in the guest Choco Leibniz review, but I'm going to overlook that. Just this once mind. Further scurrilous remarks will not be tolerated.

...the humble custard cream...

...poor albino cousin of the Bourbon

Chester's right - 'ncotaasd' is the place if you like biscuits.RIP Abbey Crunch - my all-time favourite.Choco Leibniz (dark) is a special Christmas treat (chuffin' spensive) - must remember to get a pack. And some 'Cafe Noir' (ditto on the price).

They're on special offer in Waitrose atm, had a couple (biscuits, not packs) with my coffee yesterday. Yum!I'd love to see the Autoshite AGM descend into chaos due to biscuit related disagreements, and all that's left is the broken, crumbling Rich Tea at the very end of the packet.Shouldn't Lincoln be the symbolic biscuit of Autoshite?

Choco Leibniz are lovely, Lidl used to do their own version which were about 80p, they were still made in Germany so a pretty reasonable substitute.Malted Milk with Chocolate (a fairly recent innovation from Tesco amongst others) and Hob Nobs for me. I tend not to buy biscuits anymore, I used to have a very fattening habit of eating the whole packet. I used to find 'Marie' the ultimate in blandness, they are very similar to Lincolns if I remember correctly? On the savoury side, Carr's Table Water are excellent - when there was a fire in the factory in Carlisle there was a national shortage apparently!

Can you still get the biscuits with the stick men (LS Lowry must be turning in his grave...) doing sports on them? They were ace.

Can you still 'pick up a Penguin'? Those things were pretty shite but they did have chocolate on them

^ There's a 9 pack on the go in the workshop here at the moment. We've been doing the bite the corners off and suck tea through them thing. It's very messy.

I'm very partial to a Jammy Dodger, although I would not object to see the Viscount chosen as the preferred nibble at any Autoshite AGM.

May I put in a plea for Battenburg cake? Don't care about the calories/colesterol levels, just like it! Also quite go for those fig rolls, too! What an excellent thread, particularly at Christmas! Incidentally, it's snowing in north London!

I can honestly say I hate everything that's mentioned here, with the possible exception on the Orange Clubs. Cheap biscuits, YUK!

I don't really like biscuits. So don't feel too left out, Fred.
