Having recently exchanged one car for another five years younger with twice the mileage (see below), I wondered whether there's many folk on here who have bought, sold, or exchanged old grot with other people on here?

 

 

This Cavalier came my way a couple of weeks back, it's not a bad old bus at all actually though the CV joints are a little clicky and the heater doesn't work hence it's already been nicknamed The Refrigerator. It's not in any danger of being sent off to the scrappy, but if anybody would like it, speak up and we'll talk - it would make an excellent police car replica

Faintly disturbing thread title!I bought the Galant off Matt Jones (not on here), the previous owner before him was Spottedlaurel and before him Reallyloud/Datsuncherry. School bike innit.Stanza came from Mr Duke.

Erm, 'speaking up' here, what can you tell me about it please?

On topic I've dealt with Station, Lankytim, Watanabe and Father Ted from here and will vouch for them being the toppermost people.

I'm pretty sure I'll have dealt with others too, it's just my memory is a bit Sherman like.

I've bought a Camry estate from Spottedlaurel and a Renault 12 estate from Torsten - I was supposed to be swapping the R12 for a Volvo 245 but the Volvo got pikey'd before the exchange could be made.

I gave Colc my BMW E28 525i and bought an Audi 80 Estate off him which I then swapped back with him for a Merc 190e 2.6 which like an utter prick I sold still one of the smoothest cars I've ever owned.

At least touch-up paint will be easy to come-by, I'm sure you boys have plenty of Tippex on your desks seen as you're in the Planning Dept

LOL, amazingly it doesn't appear to have any scratches or rust on the body, we have a glut of Tipp-Ex now that our ten year old Diamond White Fiesta Courier has finally been removed from fleet strength...

I sold the R30 to Ed Ratdat, and fixed the points on Stations Whizzkid, but that's about it. I should really get out more.

Saab 9000 S turbo swapped for Volvo 760 Turbo with Torsten.IIRC he then swapped the 9000 for a Galant. Its (the saab) still out on the road somewhere as its taxed. Would like to have it back

I bought my Carina off a lad off RR - might be some others too. Generally a lot less hassle than dealing with plebs on ebay.

My brown Vanden Plas Allegro was sold to Mr Bollox, in my pre-Autoshite days. Funnily enough it was dragged away using the same A frame that brought me Lanky Tim's Brown Renault 21. Top shite haulin'!Aside from that, I collected some magazines from Trigger. Lots of them. And I've read about three of them. Drat.

Not yet bought anything off fellow Autoshiters, I'm sure it will happen eventually. But the blue Renault 15TL (AS logo) went to Paul Wakeley and then after to to Ratdat if I remember rightly. Then the red Daf 33 (not AS logo) went to Sam Glover at PC as well. Both cars were a bit ropey at the time but sold on ebay to respective buyers for hardly anything.Prior to Autoshite conception we remember bidding against (the then unknown to us) Mr Bollox and Wuvvum on eBay shite too, circa 2005.I have a massive MASSIVE urge at the moment to get a white Chevanne (or similar) with an MOT, so I can hand paint it in Rediffusion yellow/black livery. If anyone knows of one anywhere. I'd feel very comfortable trading with an AS regular on anything.
