So has he dug it up yet or left it buried? No pictures in that news report. Be interesting to see

Didn't realise they'd tracked the relatives down, that's nice to hear!

Did Vic Reeves bury an A40 Somerset? I seem to remember watching a programme about how he and Bob Mortimer started their act and I’m pretty sure he buried his car in that programme

Yes he did, which seems like a good excuse to wheel out this, which is possibly my favourite forum post anywhere of the internet! Do you think Vic knows he LITERALLY KILLED A MAN?

Sort of on the same theme.

Anyone know the Beckton Alps in East London? Apparently, there's a steam railway engine buried under there. It was the shunter from the huge gasworks that used to be there, and co-incidentally where one of my uncles was a foreman. I still wear his ring that he and my aunt bought when he was in Bomber Command during WW2.

On a slightly similar theme, a few years ago a developer was about to build on a small paddock in the town of Penarth in South Wales. The Contractor was warned by several people "mind you don't dig the elephant up". The field is the final resting place of Archie the circus elephant who collapsed and died on Stanwell Road. Hopefully whoever has Archie in their garden doesn't dig too deep.

That Somerset ruined by Vic Twatting Reeves is still there, completely trashed, its front end sticking out of a hole in his garden in Kent.

That link from Barrett makes me sad. I felt much the same way as this bloke (who sounds just like me btw, hating MGBs and Stags and loving old British family cars) but avoided having the inevitable stroke due to just being seven or eight at the time. It still grates with me, and must have shaved a decade off my life (at least!) knowing that poor defenceless little Austin was wrecked by an unfunny "comedian" as part of some pointless publicity stunt!

Vic also partially buried a Mk1 Cavalier, it was left sticking out the ground at a weird angle. His posh neighbours complained and he eventually had to exhume it and presumably it went for scrap.

This is where the Somerset was, it used to be clearly visible on Google maps but not anymore. I can't tell if it's still there (but green/overgrown) or if it's finally gone. Any Kent shiters able to confirm on a Boris walk? There's a public footpath nearby, looks easy enough to have a gander.

There is still a steam engine buried in Lindal In Furness - it fell into a large sinkhole and before the steam crane could be summoned it had dropped too deep to recover. So they just filled the hole in.

Now scraps plummeted I might have to bury the Mondeo under the decking on the back garden. ?

Do it. Someone will dig it up in 150 years and see what misery we had to put up with lol
