Dear Confused,What a barmy notion! Who could possibly need 2 cars never mind 3?In these times of economic uncertainty, global warming and potentially fatal epidemics (See Daily Mail for details) It would be utter folly and sheer madness to waste your hard earned cash and indeed your childrens inheritance on an old car.I'm sending you my leaflet "How to spot a wrong'un" which gives advice on using magnets to detect wag in the wheel arches.Take cash, haggle.Deardrie.

Follow your heart, you have to do it. What is it someone once said? 'It's better to try something and regret it than spend a lifetime wondering 'what if?'.

Go and get it , you know you want to , and who knows when the next one will turn up , far less of these about than early festers which is probably replacable anyway

Dear ConfusedI write with reference to your letter above, and must offer my extreme disapproval of your tactics. You have stated that your "target" is located in Bolton, where I live. This is not a bad thing, and I would certainly make you welcome for tea and toasted Warburton's.However, you then go on to flaunt what could be an available Mk1 Fiesta. This makes my logistical problem solving mind go into overdrive. Again this is no bad thing, unless it involves buying old cars which I have no use for. Therefore, I will in no way suggest that you could drive that Fez to me, and I'll take you across town for the Austin. Unless said Fez is so ludicrously cheap that I could not refuse. In conclusion, I must ask, are you trying to get me divorced?Yours in FrustrationSporty Problem Solver

Do it If you want the thing, and can scrape together the necessary wongage, buy it. Where the hell will you find another?I've got the twinge for a Tatra 613/5 at the moment so I've had to forget ebay exists for a few weeks.

I have a friend who is looking for a Mk1 Fiesta at the moment. After narrowly missing out on a lovely one that had only done 35k today as someone put a deposit on it as he was looking at it, he may be keen on that one if you are getting shot. Let me know if you are selling and a little about the car and i will pass the info on.

If it's purely as a toy, a hobby, a plaything, then totally go for it as long as it doesn't impinge upon any essentials budgets. That said, I shudder to think how much something like that must be valued at in the current market - big money in old commercials!

Does the seller want a Mk1 fez as a part ex? If not I will have it

Dear Confused, You regret more the things that you haven't done than the things that you have done.* Go for it, if you find that you have bitten off more than you can chew, financially or otherwise, you should be able to extracate yourself with the minimum of loss.Auntie Alfisti* assuming that statement doesn't make you even more confused
