Last couple of weeks...

Wolseley 16/60 outside my local social club.

001.jpg

205 GTi spotted through the window while paying for petrol.

002.jpg

Next three were seen within a couple of minutes of each other.

Not many early Vectra V6s about now.

003.jpg

Literally as I turned round from taking the above pic, this appeared.

004.jpg

Beefy Beemer, dunno if the lights and plate are smoked or just mucky.

005.jpg

Snapped cos it had no badges and I wasn't sure at first what it was.  (Daihatsu Sirion.)

That Wolseley reminds me of what all the old giffers used to do come the frost, wrap the grille in foil in readiness for cooking the turkey, or in other words, it's a make-do-and-mend grille muff.

Posted

Was common. For some, a fitted textile (leather?) version was available, sometimes with zips so you could peel down the middle portion. (Wolsely/Riley 1.5s come to mind)

You have a problem with muffs? :)

Very nice Mk2 Scirocco - passed me after I'd walked further along the road and sounded quite fruity too.

001.jpg

My phone clearly doesn't like taking photos at dusk, which is a shame cos this Volvo was mint.

002.jpg

Not seen a Carina E in years.

Been a few months....

Nice Porsche spotted at Donington Park.

IMG_20230902_121414140_MFNR~2.jpg

Couple of spots from Portugal - I admit I didn't know what this one was at first, turns out it's a Ford Taunus 12M.

IMG_20230927_224245234_MFNR~2.jpg

Also from Portugal - this could have been one for the "Cars you didn't know existed" thread - a Chevrolet Alero, sold outside Europe as an Oldsmobile.

IMG-20230930-WA0015~2.jpg

And some cool trucks spotted at Donington Park back in August at Convoy In The Park.

I really should update this more often - here's some from the last few months...

Pumas are less common these days.

001.jpg

Rubbish night spots of an AX...

002.jpg

...and a Fiesta which was some sort of special edition, but it's a long time since I took this pic and I've forgotten what.

003.jpg

I remember seeing a Nova saloon on TV and commenting that there must be virtually none left nowadays, then a couple of days later I spotted this in my home town!

004.jpg

Romahome.

005.jpg

Proper Range Rover spotted outside a pub in Yorkshire.

006.jpg

Ovlov at dusk.

007.jpg

Chippy Merc.

008.jpg

French plated Lagoona in southern Germany near the Austrian border, quite a trek!

009.jpg

Slightly crusty Almera.

010.jpg

The next few are from another trip to Germany, at a classic car dealership not far from Munich that despite having this wide selection offered for sale looked like it hadn't been open for some time.

Time for an update (those on my Facebook will have already seen these)...

Pooloo saloon at Silverstone.

001.jpg

These two were on opposite sides of the same car park.

002.jpg

003.jpg

Car park at Donington during the World Superbikes - tell me you're a Toprak Razgatlioglu fan without telling me you're a Toprak Razgatlioglu fan.

004.jpg

Number plate removed at owner's request.

005.jpg

South Wales Mini.

006.jpg

Long range spot from a hotel window.

007.jpg

These things have been following me around lately - not long after taking the second photo at Brands Hatch I was followed by a white Integrale on the motorway!

009.jpg

Been laid up locally to me for a while.

010.jpg

And finally....erm, ok then.

Of all things, a 1,870 cc diesel engine!  The trike is registered as a 'Pegasus Specialberry' on that plate, with a date of manufacture of 2015.  It is down as a three-wheeler, so all looks present and correct.  A poke about suggests that the engine is a Renault - they made a diesel of that size.  Bizarre.

The mad difference between these 2 cars (apart from the alloys and year of reg) the W-reg one is a 2.5 and mine is a 2.6!

/\ I walked past the estate I pictured above on the same day I photographed that weird trike thing - it's still in the same position and appears to be full of rubbish.

Curiouser and curiouser...

Seems odd that someone would go to such effort then abandon the thing.
