Bollocks, I knew I'd miss something! :(

I also forgot to give you your complimentary Autoshite stickers!

Pity , those wipers on the back windows would be perfect for keeping them visible , no other use for them :D

It is Ex forrestry commission, the colour is forrest green.

It is a decent spec being the hdi engine, electric pack etc and the bash plate underneath.

Sounds treemendous!

Donkeys ago my then boss sold a "barn find" mk1 Escort that had belonged to some ancient relative. He agreed to deliver it to Lincoln without realising that the people who named Steep Hill weren't joking.

After a lifetime in the flat lands the poor Escort gave up half way up the hill and had to be assisted to its new home.

I am slightly concerned it's camouflage green , I parked it in front of a hedge and it all but disappeared from a distance , might have to cover it in flashing led lights so people see it when it's overcast :D

I used to have a car that was tarmac grey , I had a few people pull out in front of me in that as it blended into the road

Autoshite collection threads never go bad.

They just get interesting.

It's got to be worth double now , I'm surprised these genuine sheepskin seat covers haven't got autoshite on them somewhere

Are those the Lidl sheepskin covers? I had a set of those which I used on my Fiat Pandas, unfortunately I no longer have them (the Pandas or the seatcovers) the seatcovers left me fitted over the wrecked front seats on the Mk Vi Bentley, I suspect the new owner will junk them in favour of a seat retrim.

They are

Marked up at £19.99 each but when scanned they were £14.99 , fronts are sheepskin , sides and back nylon

Fitting the passenger seat was like having a fight with chewbacca though as it doesn't slide forward it just tips up

If it’s as invisible as you reckon it’ll soon have your shite on the seats when someone pulls out on you.

Birkitts  ?

Yes that's the one.

They used to have another shop directly across the street but I haven't been there since I finished working in Lincoln.

Well it’s survived a year , mostly because it’s barely moved in the last 12 months

its got a Covid MOT until January but the insurance runs out on Sunday so I’m going to put it in for a test tomorrow , if it passes or doesn’t want much I’ll be using it , if it fails on anything more than a minor I’ll make a decision tomorrow

it is a belting van though , it’s stood for months , put the charger on the battery 2 months ago , fired on the first turn of the key , it’s sat since then so I got the charger out but thought I’ll give it a go , fired straight up , just done 10 miles in it , no issues , everything works

wish me luck , I’m hoping it’s not rotted away underneath ,

Will you be getting it sorted? The underseal used on these from the factory hides the rust well. I had mine patched one year for mot time, but they were utterly shot by next mot so had both sills cut out and replaced. Not overly expensive, but that was over 2 years ago and the van has just flown* thro another test with no mentions of rust. I spent some money where others would have scrapped it. Its paid off for me.

They quoted £200 to patch it so I’ve let them do it , hopefully they’ll have it done and tested by midweek

That's not too bad at that, you don't often see rotten ones I must say, I wonder if it's down to it's early life as a forrestry whip?

Glad to hear it is getting the treatment though!

Could be that , or it could be that it's barely moved in the 12 months I've owned it , they don't like being damp , moving about dries them out

True, I'd forgotten how moist a proper van gets inside in cold weather!

I think it's more parked on grass which doesn't do them much good

Anyway all welded up , 12 months test and insured for a year @ £217

I'm parking it on the street from now on so it doesn't dissolve
