andrew e Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 A rather pleasant day out yesterday, because there is loads of junk hiding in Brooklands - Cars, bikes planes, missles! The lot. £9 to get in £4 for concorde (which was booked solid) anyway some nice Capris for you lot. Signal Yellow FTW Ex Autocar test car - was better than new Continental spec factory turbo - were these 2.3 or am I mental? PERANAH!* Mybe spelt nothing like that... RS3100 double act U.S. spec:
Mr Lobster Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 That is lovely. Either that or a 280 Brooklands would make me a very happy chap. Out of my price range I suppose now.
brammy777 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 didnt get a chance to go, which is a shame.good pics though!
andrew e Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 And finally the Autoshite CAPRI-OFF Which fantastic POS would you chose? The Signal amber scruff mobile (@1992 to me) or the Astion Martin replica - really it is a Capri underneath!
HillmanImp Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Were they politely told to go and park it in the barn away from the rest of the Capri's?There used to be a red one of those Aston jobs in Littlehampton about 20 years ago.Remember the first time i saw it i thought 'Wow an Aston, lets walk over there and have a look at it' when i realised i was already stood right next to it. They are tiny, but i suppose a Capri is smaller than an Aston V8. The car was not (in my opinion) a very well thought out kit. I suppose it could be a 'mini me' V8 for the wifey.I see on this one they have gone to a great deal of effort to make sure the wheels fill the arches......
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 That is lovely. Either that or a 280 Brooklands would make me a very happy chap. Out of my price range I suppose now. That is indeed a trouser incident waiting to happen. You can see why Ford sold so many cars. That looks like it's a 2000S - with Cadiz trim.I'm partial to a Crapi. I had a stunningly mint 2 owner '83 2000GL 11 years ago. I hated it, but they do look good.
Rusty Pelican Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Pirana, s very nice , South African import , 4.2 V8 from factory IIRC.
Dukestar25 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 And finally the Autoshite CAPRI-OFF Which fantastic POS would you chose? The Signal amber scruff mobile (@1992 to me) or the Astion Martin replica - really it is a Capri underneath! Did you get any pics of that Tickford one hiding behind the fence next to the pavillion ?
CortinaDave Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 In fairness, of them all I'll have this: Just a brilliant piece of technology. If it has to be one of the capri's I'll go for the mk2 3.0S
Richard Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Dave, I'm sure you already know you can see Concorde close up at the Museum of Flight at East Fortune but in case you didn't... http://www.nms.ac.uk/our_museums/museum_of_flight.aspx
