chester drawers Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 35k 1987 Vauxhall Nova Antibesruns like a sewing machinePerhaps not the best choice of words if you want to sell it!It comes with 3 spoke factory alloys with red centres, and is otherwise totally standard. Apart from the exhaust, front indicator lenses and de-badging that is. All easily reversible though. I like this car but I can’t see a 650 quid start bid happening to be honest. Especially with a potentially dodgy rear arch repair. The 35K appears genuine but then there are only 6 barrels on a Nova odometer. My Antibes has done 129K and looks broadly similar condition-wise save for the colour… Only a couple of thousand or so of these were made on their first release though and since most of them are long gone, It’d be a shame to see this one given the inevitable cruise/track/LET/XE treatment. Arse.

dollywobbler Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 I really like the look of that red-un I don't mind admitting.I've never understood the sewing machine thing though. My Mum's sewing machine sounded like an exhaust-less VW Beetle trying to hurl it's bottom end through the sump. The 1.2 Merit in burgundy takes me back. On a family day out when I was 16, my Dad let me drive our Nova saloon around a car park. I'd never driven a car with a clutch (one auto experience) before that, and it just seemed so easy! The years practicing in my Aunt's Morris Minor (on bricks in a garage...) obviously paid off!

Possibly. Performance Cars seems an odd name to trade under given that we are the experts when it comes to providing used commercial vehicles, used vans, trucks, tippers, Minibuses, Caravans, Motorhomes and also cars.
Negative Creep Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Even though I normally hate Vauxhalls, I like the Nova. Since it was my first car I just can't bring myself to hate them, especially as they are now rather rare

Arse. Aye, spotted that this morning linked on VXON and commented that the exhaust wasn't standard. Those wheel centres look gash to be honest and they should be the first things to be changed. £650 isn't bad value if the mileage is right and it really is as tiday as it looks and I wouldn't be too concerned about the rear arch just yet.
chester drawers Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 Hat duly eaten - it sold! Hope it's going to a good home
