We are working toward a full season this year, starting with a test day at Cadwell Park in mid-March.  No pressure, then.

Meanwhile, enjoy this: https://www.autosport.com/national/news/how-to-build-the-uks-unlikeliest-race-car/8082299/?fbclid=IwAR3dlpUnMUorfDGIlp7vVmjD_Tjzh4f8tV_pODBbeL1KdNjqZnz0ZcacTfc 😎

The guy who did my Cat back, on MrSavvy, told me he made the exhaust systems for "all the 2cv 24-hour cars"....

Got the impression he was 'control specification' pipes across the grid?

Not sure where he gets that idea.

Racing 2CV exhausts are free, in the sense that they are not defined in the series rules.  As long as the system satisfies the MSA rulebook and passes the circuit noise tests, there are no restrictions.

Well.... The guy had a 24h 2cv in his garage when I was there (10yr ago...) and, perhaps, he was referring to being a 'popular guy' to make a top quality product...

Dunno. He is VERY GOOD, I know that much 😎

First meeting of the season at Cadwell this weekend.  Car looks good and goes well.  I can't make it, but @Talbot will be there.

Cadwell Park, 15.4.23, first meeting, two 15-minute sprint races...

Race 1: Laurence - qualified 15/21, finished 15th.
Race 2: George - qualified 11/21, also finished 15th.

There's work to be done on the fuelling and cylinder heads, we're not getting the solid top-end power we expected.  Rest of the car was pretty good.

So, while Laurence did that, before the rain set in, I hacked about the first of the new lightweight panels to make it fit a little better!

Dave - when it comes to the 24hr this year I'm keen to get involved, have you any "vacancies"?

Two sprint races today, plus a 110-minute enduro late tomorrow (with driver changes)...

Sprint qualifying:

Race 1, Laurence: 19th, 1:27.469
Race 2, George: 14th, 1:25.413

Laurence super-smooth as ever; George had a moment late in his race and tore off the fuel tank undertray.

Car handles beautifully, but still ain't quick enough...

Is George working on weight reduction?

There's a photo in an article on the race in the September '92 edition of Cars & Car Conversions of a carburettor igniting spectacularly: that was us...

There is as well, look at that!

Qualified 11th for the enduro later today; 10th in class, so there must be one of the Mini Grandes ahead.
