SiC Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Just curious, what's the lump of foam insulation used for? Knee rest or catch falling parts?

Andyrew Posted Tuesday at 15:17 Author Posted Tuesday at 15:17 This afternoon I finally finished zapping in all the panels for the cill repair and welded in a new bit of tube for the jacking point on the trabby. @Zelandeth was happy for the repairs to be visible so I just knocked back the high spots on the welds and will slap some primer over it. Its not perfect but its nice and solid. Yoss, Cookiesouwest, CaptainBoom and 25 others 28
SiC Posted Tuesday at 15:28 Posted Tuesday at 15:28 Pretty damn good tbh. Much better than many "restorer" repairs I've seen on cars at shows over the years. Fancy a job replacing my Dolomite sill? 😅 🙃 Andyrew 1
juular Posted Tuesday at 17:06 Posted Tuesday at 17:06 That welding and fabrication is glorious. warninglight, Tickman, Yoss and 5 others 1 1 6
warninglight Posted Tuesday at 18:05 Posted Tuesday at 18:05 Yes, no need to hide the welds when you've nothing to hide! Lovely work. My dad was just saying at the weekend that his BX he had in 89/90 was probably the best car he ever owned.
Andyrew Posted Tuesday at 18:57 Author Posted Tuesday at 18:57 Bit of red oxide splashed about. Tomorrow, underseal removal, cavity wax scraping and spot weld drilling. Ohhh yay! RayMK, LightBulbFun, Dyslexic Viking and 10 others 13
Andyrew Posted Tuesday at 19:02 Author Posted Tuesday at 19:02 After zapping the trabby up I really needed to tidy the workshop. So I washed the BX instead. First up the inside was rocking a bit of musk and all the cob webs. No spiders tho handily! Tenmil Socket, Six-cylinder, Lacquer Peel and 3 others 6

Andyrew Posted Wednesday at 18:21 Author Posted Wednesday at 18:21 Today some trabby stuff happened and the BX got shifted about and organised inside. The boot was a little chaotic and mice had been in and made homes in the boxes and generally shit about the place. Some sorting later and it's a bit more inspiring to work on catsinthewelder, Dyslexic Viking, LightBulbFun and 4 others 7

Andyrew Posted yesterday at 12:50 Author Posted yesterday at 12:50 Decided to tackle the central grot in two halves, just incase anything want to shift white bits were cut out. I gave a smidge of support to the car and subframe just as a bit of help. Grot cut out This whole area was pretty shagged, the mount I was happy to re use minus the grotty corner. And many many zaps later Tickman, SiC, Zelandeth and 11 others 14
