These thunderfuds look shit but but I bet it's a bit of a laugh for for the money given it's got a manual gearbox conversion

I rather like this. This era of American motor holds a certain appeal for me - probably due to being a wee lad in the '80s - and it's a lot of car for only £1200.

Ledbury Maestro:

Yes that is a 'Y' plate. I'm constantly amazed that you could buy one of these new in 2001. British engineering at its best.

THE definitive shiter's car?

I'm guessing these would be one of the Indian kits imported in the late '90s but, yeah, had no idea they would still be available in the 21st century. And part of me thinks that is a good thing!

£1500 BIN BO.

Never mind pissing about with petitions for rolling tax exemption, how about someone starts one for having anyone who puts chequer plate on a Landrover shot in the bollocks?

Apologies I have posted the Triumph and Rapier which are already on!

Anyway have this old essex boy looking great in Tungsten Grey.

Those Rapiers must be one of the best looking cars of that era.

'It needs a timing belt' ?

Hmmm. head gasket failure is timing belt failure?

No that normally means the timing belt has gone. Depends whether it's an interference engine or not.

Sounds like the cambelt might have snapped? I'd avoid it personally and pay slightly more and get a unfucked one.

You've found a belter there, Alex.

I've just taken a closer look at this bullshit. Take that 'genuine' invoice for the work. The date appears to be 1940-odd - for a Morris 1000.

Also I didn't know that they had type-writers in those days which would do Times New Roman, and be so advanced that they looked like an inkjet printer from 50 years later. What's this malarkey about '2 L. 107 Champion plugs'? As far as I know no such thing even exists and certainly wasn't the plug for an A-Series.

'grind tappet screws'

'1' x L" steel pipe extention for rear pipe' (a first class job done, I'm sure, especially when you're measuring in made-up units)

?

Not that any of the above would in the slightest part bother the twit who is stupid enough to buy this crap. Though I must hand it to him, the concept of cobbling some old shite together in a display board and trying to flog it for 1000 times its value is an interesting one.

The model in the showcase appears to be that cheap 1/26 scale Saico diecast released just a few years ago and that's still commonly available.

Mr. Lobster to confirm.

Well the vendor didn't get back to me when I suggested what he had wasn't genuine.

Non-interference engine

A Pox on the AA man and the 'free recovery guy' who attended my Gold Acclaim HLS after my breaking down in roadworks on the A1M - at the roadside they both declared it knackered due to timing belt failure and said it was pretty much a scrapper cos it was a 'bad' engine and vavles would have mangled pistons. It went straight to the scrappers because I was 150 miles from home with not much money to contemplate fixing it! And it had only done about 60k miles, it was lovely condition and I'd bought it off the old duffer first owner!

We should report him for deception, no go for fraud, that will learn him........

I think it is interference. ISTR someone asking that before on here.

It was tongue in cheek.....:-D
