We all know these are laughably shite. But, that is almost a reasons in itself to get one. This one's an 05 plate 2.0 turbo petrol, 205bhp, all supposedly up and running with long tax and ticket, the guy sounds genuine and reasonably knowledgeable.

Who the fuck is actually going to want that USA escort thing. The only person who will buy it is a shiter type who is curious to see if it really is as hopelessly shit as it looks. Those guys don't spend more than £2-300 on a 'curiosity buy' as they know it will be impossible to sell on afterwards. He might possibly get one of those PVC jacket-wearing fellas who will only drive yank cars to part with a little more but I doubt it.

That USA Escort begs the question, who on earth went to the trouble and expense of importing it in the first place and why? It really has no redeeming qualities apart from a small amount of exclusivity based on its rarity.  It's barely interesting enough to even claim that.

My Dad's just retired and is thinking of a cheap auto runabout when his company BMW goes back, he did mention a Mondeo but I won't hold my breath hoping I could persuade him to run something this old.
