Bickle has / had one of those.  Same engine as my old 1938 Novaquatre - 2.4 sidevalve with roots going back to WW1 and the same power output as the 1108cc Cléon-Fonte introduced a few years later.

Is he still about Nigel? Remember seeing him on an early car programme, was it Deals on wheels with Brewer? He had B1CKLE or similar on a Ferrari Mondial. Had a massive barn full of cars that had a fire from memory.

God alone knows why someone's fitted van tyres to it though, they look shit.

Shropshire reg, maybe from Furrows?

Were do I start

Needs a wing  & bonnet, missing very rare gear knob, had a mk 5 front valance fitted ( so resprayed at least once) , missing parts of stripe kit, engine bay been stoned chipped, passenger seat back has collapsed ( common MK4 problem) needs glovebox lid & vent surround.

Shudder to think what's under the paint.

He's on The Dark Wob. I noticed his name on there the other day.

Do they all come from the factory with farmers or is that one of the mods?

The quick quip would be 'loadsa bollocks'
Honest answer?
No idea - I'm assuming some sort of Ye Olde Mercedes Benz noise/vibration/resonance prevention???? (maybe)

The more you look at it the worse it gets,  the sunroof is there on the inside but not the outside! The lower rear wing looks horrendous and both front seats look very wrong, base and backrest. It was sold less than a week ago by Manor Classics for £3.620 and that was pushing it in my opinion for something needing a very thorough restoration. It did stop me in my tracks when I first saw it and would be great restored but that is an extremely optimistic asking price. I thought I recognised this car and am sure it was originally Cosmos Blue with no vinyl roof, it has appeared for sale a few times over the years looking worse and worse. I first saw it on eBay looking original but scruffy, it was at one time owned by a complete knob on buy sell cortina who was threatening to scrap it if he nobody would give him a couple of grand for it so he could turn a profit to buy a ‘proper classic’ I think by then it was painted in primer. Fortunately it appeared a few years later at another auction still in primer, it seems it has since been badly bodged and has reappeared. I am glad to see it still around but it looks in a bad way.

Ditch the wheels for Ghia alloys and show us the interior please. It might be nice then.

I totally agree, those wheels are completely abysmal!

I can think of a couple of explanations for the van tyres but none of them are a good reason.

Ebay use to be a fun place to find unusual things. Now it's just speculators trading amongst themselves, artificially driving up prices.
