That Volga will need a LOT of welding.

It was Theo Gillam's car- which I tried to buy about 10 years back. We couldn't agree on value, although we got pretty close.

Didn't run right then, still doesn't. Having sat in his back garden for a few years he sold it to Sam last year, but having seen it recently in his hangar, I strongly agree with his decision to punt on.

Its still do-able, but it needs a lot of time/ money -and when you're running a fleet, that's difficult.

End of the day, its more fun to find a good one in its ''home environment'', something Sam excels at.

That 307 is a potential bargain though, wonder if the mrs would roll in one for a while...

I bet everything on it's knackered though. All the bushes will be shot, every panel will be dunted, it'll probably still be running the same oil it came out the factory with and the interior will be like the inside of a slurry tank. Not to mention that fact that these things aren't exactly fantastic when in tip top condition. I think you should go for it :)

I wouldn't touch the 307 with a barge pole, it's almost guaranteed to be riddled with expensive electrical gremlins, these have awful DPF and DMF issues among many other maladies and that immaculately maintained example will not be any exception.  You'd be far better off spending similar cash on a late 306.

Bargain DS possibly?

Definitely.  Auction has ended prematurely

That 307 is a Petrol so no DMF of DPF but catastrophic electrical failure is still pretty much gaurenteed.

The crusty Jag I spotted a while back at a local chod dealer has arrived on the bay:

It still looks very tired but it certainly has an interesting back story.

Is that the one that was at Prances? Up for £795 if I recall, be interesting to see what bids go to.

The very one, looked very ropey up close but mostly cosmetic.  Not my cup of tea so wasn't really paying close attention, the rally-prepped Rover 25 next to it was more interesting!  That Astra's been on for a while too, looks like a good one.

I did see the 25, but was sold. They also have a rally-prepped early mk3 Escort for £1300. DVLA says 1.3, but not sure how true that is.

Even though this is an MG zr its not the usual unreliable zr

it had a full engine rebuild on the 11/01/13 at the same time it also had the head skimmed and new internal and external cambelts as well as new upgraded injectors, she also has a new battery fitted as well

Sounds like its been 100% reliable for this lucky fella.

I was going to comment that it can't really be a barn 'find' as the seller put it in the barn themselves, but I realise that anything that hasn't been attended to or caressed for at least two consecutive nights is classed as a barn find nowadays.

The milk I put on my cereal this morning was an OMGFRIDGEFIND.
