It's usually the last section behind the C-pillars that gets all the bad press, as they commonly rot there.

The distorted bonnet lid lifting like that in the photo is something that happens with some CXs, mine included. Makes the car look as though it's sneering at everybody, because French.

I suspect that will be being sold from the scrap yard down there. Volksmania/algys autos. Spot the fork lift!

Low spec Audio 80e in splendid condition.  ....

These B4s had a proper boot with actual space inside it, unlike the B3s....

That Audi looks lovely, they did make solid good looking cars back then in my opinion.

Looking at the ad though it reckons 85bhp, from 2.0l ! My mate had a 1.8 and I don't remember it being too dire, surely that's not right?

It's not right no.  The fuel injected 2 litre beater is about 115 horsies from memory.

85kw, so 113bhp. They only weigh a bit over a tonne so that’s not too bad, especially if it’s a manual.

With an autobox like mine, the 2.0E cruises well and keeps up but isn’t about to snap your neck at the traffic lights.

I had no idea how different those B3 and B4 Audis are. I thought the B4 was just yer typical facelift. The B4 is quite a few inches longer in the arse end for a start!!!

Thanks Skizzer, I'm not sure why I didn't think of that!

I thought the same Bo11, having looked I see now it was a B3 my mate had. £1200 doesn't look too bad but I can't imagine the market is very good right now.

The TDI I had was only 90bhp, with an auto 'box to sap a bit more power, and that kept up with traffic OK.

Right then you absolute mingebags.  Stop running about in shitty old nails that cost you 2 days pay and an ounce of belly button fluff and buy a proper fucking car already.

I don't care how much it is.  It's glorious.  And if you add up the amount of money you've wasted on totally fucked Citroens and utterly hopeless soviet junk - then you'd be most of the way to the asking.

Chop chop now.  Don't disappoint.

I had one of these about 12 years ago.  Not quite* as nice as that one but still a very pleasant thing to roar around in, as long as you didn't see your reflection in a shop window.

I paid £500 for mine.

This is the rub.  I remember seeing them at around the £795 mark and thinking "aye but the fuel".  How fucking ignorant was I? I was probably doing about 15k a year at the time and could easily have got a little runabout as well.  Wanker.

Still, I suppose - via man manths - you can still justify it.  Through the lense of "Old Skool Ford Yo" it's still not cripplingly expensive.  You can spend 3 times this on an old Escort which will, I'm certain, deliver under a third of the joy.

Is that Scorpio painted Tundra Green? It does look nice, but I don't really 'get' Fords. I think I must be too sophisticated or something

Another that I'd honestly own, I've grown a soft spot for them of late....

£1495.

Nice to see one that's not silver or black too!

But I guess that after 19 years & 110k miles that the battery will be nothing other than a paperweight by now?

Those b3s never seem to have attracted the usual braindead VAG crowd so have always been pretty cheap. I like them, though they're very German in a way I can't quite quantify.

The hybrid batteries in these things seem to last surprisingly well tbh.
