You ever get that feeling someone posts an advert for a car that they don't really want to sell, they just make the advert to make someone else get off their case?  Yeah.

Just over two grand wanted and that's the pictures they're trying to sell it with.

i find it strange that a pretty little car like this should have found its way to the united states of america, especially in the late 1950's when fins were at their greatest.....

its got a 1275 outta an MG Midget fitted, i wonder if they have uprated the brakes to suit the increase in engine power.

UUuuuhhhhhh.

2.2 DCI engine is a big pile of dribbling wank.

3.0 V6 or gtfo is my view on the Laguna nowadays. Or a late 2.0dci if really want diesel - a Nissan derived unit.

At least the phase 2 are way, way better put together than the phase 1. The phase 2 that I had and now @angle owns is a much better machine than my current phase 1 that I inherited from my Grandad. Both cars had pampered early life's but the phase 2 felt like it had a lot of life left in it. While my current phase 1 is feeling and behaving as a EOL vehicle.

I can only remember Autocar giving one car a 1 star review in my 30-odd years of reading it:

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/proton/gen-2/first-drives/proton-gen-2-1.6

So I demand that a Roffle Of Doom is set up forthwith.

Shouldn't laugh because of the poor fella's plight, but that last picture for the library bus is amazing.

LDV CUB!!!!! How rare is this now? £900

Still sorry I never converted mine into a dayvan back in the day as it was a great van to drive but SOOOOOO SLOW. Sort of ok around town as it was quite low geared and felt nippy but get it out onto a dual or the motorway and it was out of steam at 70/75.

In its defence it would sit at that all day long, never hinted at any mechanical issues, proper jap quality in that respect.

You could corner at silly speeds though as it was mid engined and one you worked out how to actually find the engine (or should I say I worked out how to find it), it was a breeze to work on.

Only issue with mine was the killer rust which was almost everywhere underneath (mint on top).

Luckily at the time I had a job where I could work on it in my own time so I welded it up (very badly) and took it for a test up in Aberdeen however the tester was more used to newer cars and basically abandoned the test halfway through due to an oil leak.

Drove it home and went to see a more generous * mot tester who passed it but also said my welding was crap. Used for another 6 months and sold on for my money back which was nice but in an Edd China way as I must have spent 200hrs working on it FOC.

Apparently they made a 2.0 td version in the Serena which would have been a better bet than the 2.3d. Also thought about putting the legendary 2.0 pez in it but most have gone yo drift yo types now and not financially viable. Apparently rear axle is popular with MGB owners and the like for covering to jap engines as its a good old leaf spring type.

106k mile crash damaged Uno with BASE proudly touted in the title.

One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us!

Wow the first ever car I bought to make a bit of money on. However mine was A reg and was a proper base, seats with no headrests, only one wing mirror, 4 spd but twas a great little motor.

Bought with door and wing damage for £100 still with a short mot. Found door and wing in the same colour, stole a shock from the local rip off scrappy in Swansea at the same time but can't say as they're somehow still going.

Fixed it up and left it in the garage to dry the boot out a bit with the door half open.

Came home hours later to see my old man constantly trying to slam the garage door shut (my mother claims he was doing this for 2hrs). He hadn't noticed or thought that something maybe restricting it and had slammed and slammed it until it basically bending the boot in half!!! Of course he denied this.

Cue another trip to rip off scrappy who charged even more than the over the phone quote, must have found out about that bloody shocker.

Sold it on and actually made some money on it, been pretty much downhill ever since!!!
