Whilst we're on the subject of CX's, I think we're all in agreement that this is perfect (manual box and steering not withstanding)

Is it perfect enough to make me want to sell an X1/9 and a Saab for though? Damn close.

Definitely worth asking if the owner would part with the cabriolet. It has to be very cheap though to rescue one of those due to the very likely rot. Where in the land is it? Problem is most punters think most XK8s are worth thousands and thousands because they are pretty. I was at a Jag specialist recently and their opinion of old XK8s is that they are usually worth more in parts. Once you see bubbling at the rear quarters, the amount of welding required is enormous, like you say.

I'm going to sound like Jay from the Inbetweeners now when his mate suddenly "fucks off to Afghanistan to source a new shipment of weed" but when I drove past yesterday it was gone!!!!

It had been there a long time and had started looking a bit frilly but I'd say for certain it would have been very low mileage, fsh etc

Twas on the beautiful Gower Peninsular.

1974 A series with a Lomax shell, plus a horseshoe shaped excrescence attached to the front. Where Bugatti or 1914 comes into it is unclear. There's also one too many zeros in the asking price for something so halfarsedly executed.

Not to my idea of good taste but with its lightweight body shell and a Citroen GS ohc engine it ought to be pretty firk'n quick off the mark.!
