This car started off life as a hardtop.I was asked to make it into a convertible.

Fucking bravo, m8ey.

The owner provided the convertible top frame and the top, hydraulic rams tubing and wiring etc.It does work. The side windows are wrong, the two front windows(electric) should be straight at the top, the hardtop windows are slightly curved(there is a slight gap when they are closed)The rear windows are wrong and won't work, although there are two rear convertible windows to go with the car,but no regulators for these windows. The rear seats are there but again won't fit because they are too wide, convertible rear seats are narrower.

I assume the all important extra chassis bracing hasn't even been considered.

Why are people doing this kind of shit?

I had a MK2 'Tina, which also had the padded steering wheel (like this one) rather than the dished type normally found on UK cars. It also had a brake servo with duel lined brake pipes, a steering lock plus the tops of the struts were reinforced. These were not replaced as the welding was spot not seamed as repairs in those days would have been. Never did find out  which market it was due to be sent too.

Anyway here is a suggestion from lea after looking at the one above.

Shite wheels too.

The bigger the wheel, the thinner the tyre aspect ratio......and the worse the ride. All these massive wheels make the car look like a caricature of itself.
