I have promised myself not to buy another 4 cylinder car. Ever. I like a base-model big car and this is cheap, local, nearly a colour, has neither cow nor roof hole or that many miles.

Manual is inappropriate in an S80, but on the other hand, I have never driven a manual Volvo........

No mention of anything alarming in the MOT history. The airbag and EML lights are on but that is only electricity.

There is a box of new spares in the boot, maybe everything it needs. Also a box of old cleaning polish and waxes which I guess the previous owner used.

It's the buzzy vibration and noise. Even flat-fours,  which are relatively smooth, and of which I have driven at least six different designs, are gruff 'n rough in a way I now find really irritating.

 

All the pistons stopping at the same moment, twice / rev?    Can't be a good thing.

Nothing that cheap in Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, france or portugal so its a thumbs up from me! Genuine bargain
