Please let me know when the next stunning W112 300SE coupe comes up for sale for 30 grand.

I love big profits.

But please make sure you don't mistake it for this kind of mass market rubbish:

I thought that was cheap- it’s not the box of bits that he’s actually selling !

Probably not cheap, more like adequate for a running example.

Those W112s always commanded a hefty premium over their W111 counterparts, even when new.

In fact, a base W112 cost almost twice as much as its W111 brethren in top level trim.

My Morgan owning ( and ex 2cver) neighbour has a 111 220seb coupe in Kenya as a runabout. It’s fairly battered but runs well.

The air suspended 300 suffers from 6.3 syndrome where the car is more money/desirable but actually an utter pain in the arse to own. The one Billy posted up is scrap. It will be utterly rotten, worn out and............not worth 40 bags compared to what a proper one costs. You know that as well as I do.

Really?  Wow.  I appreciate garage rents are probably lower in Kenya but that's a hell of a walk to go and get it.

Have we had this yet?  Cheap 827 - has a few issues but nowt out of the ordinary for a K-plate Rover.

Ha! He’s from there originally and has family. Was also the pro coach for the Kenyan golf team and something to do with the Kilimanjaro balloon tours.

The French don't know/care who Roger Clark is and probably regard a Mark 2 Escort 1300 as a dismal old car. Frogs were raised in the seventies on a staple of proper cars, not cart sprung shit like that.

I spent most of my childhood bumping over those cart springs, quite often in France as it 'appens! (With a metal child seatbelt that burnt into you)

Still miss my old one too :-( (sold for £300, the humanity!)

Im heartened at the enthusiasm for these nowadays. A deservedly iconic car.

£900 with no ticket.  How times have changed... when I had my Rivas I couldn't give them away!  What's even more amazing is I'm seeing it as almost a bargain!

Presumably he doesn't go back there when the presidential election season is on....

It would be taunting me if it had some hardened 50 year old winter tyres on it.

You know, those really grandpa spec knobbly ones in 6 ply.
