The 405s were mercilessly engineraped for roadster and coupe restorations*, that's why nearly none of them still have engines.

It's practically impossible to find those engines, so one must find alternatives. Admittedly better ones than Opel 1800s are available.

One I saw at Shepton Mallet had a Triumph straight six.

Incidentally that would be my preferred choice, too, because its characteristics are similar to the original.

Other alternatives would be the Datsun straight six, if you can find one, or the straight six Opel/Vauxhall CIH.

The last one I saw had a Cologne V6, which was a tad meh, but sounded the biz.

No, but probably a better car than a P6 2000.

orly?

My 2200sc P6 was shit loads better than my chums Triumph 2000, even he admitted it. He also had an 2000SC P6 but that was an utter haunted nail

I love the old Dolly, I just dont think Rover p6 in any form was its competition.

Maybe I am chuntering utter bollocks though

Being off meds is a new experience for me more recently, thats my excuse and am sticking to it :D

Aussie Built Morris Marina, 1 owner from new with 62,000 miles on the clock

How nice is the colour! Do not Paint!

It has a nice bit of patina with no structural rust (Marinas were built WAY better in Australia!)

I iz DISAPPOINT. If you're going to import a marina from oz, at least bring one of the comically overpowered six cylinder ones.

This amazing lump of French waft is within relatively easy reach for me to go have a gander at if anyone's genuinely interested (you'll have to do your own ringing though). As long as I'm told where to gawp I should be able to give it a decent once over for someone.

Can be collectioned from my driveway too if it helps logisticals (as I'm much closer to Junction 15/15a of the M1).

Whenever I see a CNUT with the Confederate flag on his car I wish I had a BFG.

May be it should be an Autoshite rule that everyone here has to turn up for a job interview/hot date/wedding etc in a gopping Proton.  Sort of like a gang initiation ritual, but more sadistic and brutal.

A twin cam Manta engine ? Wow, must be a 400 engine, probably as rare as a Bristol 405.

That would be a Cosworth-tuned 2.4. It won't be one of them. It'll be the SOHC as Bol says.

Can you imagine buying a Bristol, popping the bonnet and seeing Vauxhall logos? Lol
