These used to be a bit too much small town night club bouncer for my liking but they're starting to look pretty good now.

They're getting fugging expensive too.  About five years ago I almost bought a mildly tuned twin turbo manual which ended up selling for just over £1200.  I reasoned at the time that I didn't need it as I'd just bought a Stagea and didn't need two fast Nissans.  A decision I've regretted many times since then.

That one isn't too expensive but I suspect it's a bit crumbly.

Auto Leganza for 140 quid BIN.  Running and MOT'd, but no heater which is a bit of a pisser at this time of year.  Still, 140 quid...

Oh aye? Let's have a look then...

Hmm, wipe clean floors, snail trails and a mop bucket.

'damage to the bottom'

And THAT'S why I shan't be bidding.

That's the same model our milkman had when I was a nipper.  He gave me and my mum a lift into town on it once when I was about 3 - I remember being terrified by the noise of the thyristor chopper (although I didn't know that was what it was at the time).  Braziers Dairies, IIRC.

'have been told it's golf a tim styles race engine'

I've been told Tim Peake played golf with Harry Styles on the fucking moon, doesn't mean it's actually true though.

This looks ideal to kidnap that fat, unfunny back-and-front James Corden to a distant forest, put him in a hessian sack then set about him with some dockers shovels.

Yeah yeah, I know we were together for years and all that, but it's for the best. Do you want a hand with your bags?'

Look, just fuck off will you, you daft cow? I've been sleeping with your sisters, so pack your bags pronto, hey'

Cheap E38.  The 2.8 is a bit overwhelmed in these though.  Bonus photobomb from one of those fugly booted Fabias.

This is apparently "rusty as a horse shoe", which has to rank up there with "silent as a fish" in bizarre analogies.  It's also the non-turbo SDI in a LWB van so will be slow as fuck.  These do sound nice when you cane them though - which would be all the fugging time in this thing.

Survival rates of these convertibles must be good as there always seems to be a few on ebay at any given time, albeit in various states of fucked-ness.

Shame it's twelve hundred for a damaged non-runner. If it were half the price, we'd be having discussions over who's going for it.

Good find, Junkmonkey!

If I had the kit to perform an engine transplant, I'd fancy this, albeit I don't know what his reserve is. M62s can't be that hard to come by (non-shagged ones possibly a bit harder).

Edit: just in case anyone wasn't aware, the manual box in these is hen's teeth, and thus (according to PPC mag at least) worth ££££ as they're in demand from people sticking V8s into older BMWs.

It's madness when you think about it. Take a car that rusts quite a bit, lop the roof off and they last longer than tin toppers. One of these, and an estate model, would pretty much complete the tick list.

You somehow make it sound as if you had a choice???
