I want to douse it with fake Chanel No5 and whisper French symbolist poetry into its engine bay.

Nah, it must wear durty dawnsing ads.

Yes, but... 1 of 100 imported and tastefully* customized by the Checker Cab Company - you wouldn't just be winning, you would already have won!

That 104 looks sweet, but with no docs and (presumably) never having been registered in the UK, getting it on the road could be interesting...

American fire engines are stupid. Just get in the the thing for fuck sake. What benefit does hanging off it do other than you get to the fire and there's no one there to put it out as they've all been collected by a big wheely bin that was sticking too far out into the road when they went past.

Prewar, British firemen (for they all were) used to hang off the engine as it was felt they could get to work quicker. As fire engines got faster, more firemen kept falling off so they reluctantly gave them a cab to sit in instead.

Benelli Adiva apparently missing it's roof, although this would appear to be the least of its problems...

no mot ,  the steering head bearings have collapsed , both mirrors are broken , the headlight is insecure , the boot catch is missing and held shut with a bungy , the battery is dead , the engine turns over on the kickstart and has good compression but doesn't run , various scuffs and scratches

Belt/rollers/clutch bits for these cost pennies though, so if you relish the thought of 28mph misery in the gutter on the bypass why not drop him a cheeky offer. I reckon £50 should take it.

I used to have this things twin brother on identical mileage. What I don't get is why anyone would put a hydraulic handbrake, straight through exhaust, boost gauge, paddle clutch etc on a lumbering ancient diesel 5 series. Hydraulic handbrake? Is he going autotesting with the fucker?
