The first time it was posted I commented. I am loving that. I was going to type something about something, but then I remembered Official Secrets Act and need to Know basis. and nobody needs to know.

This looks FUCKING loverrrrrrlllllllley in a CalibrE sort of way.

I bet it's as shit to drive as they always were. Love the Phase 1 rear lights and phase 2 front lights contrast.

Always loved the Immmmmerscccher body kit of the Calibre.

I am also loving the Recaro built, but not branded front seats of the LX. I would but for promises previously made to myself and wife about my previous mental illness. (I have owned 4 mk2 cavaliers, and will not ever again)

Dread to think what it does to the performance though!

When sitting in city centre traffic jam in 40 degrees heat in downtown {insert name of japanesse city}, I can't imagine that it matters. What matters is that the Air con actually works.

I always though Calibre replicas were mostly awful, but that is well fit. Bang on about the lights too.

was never really a fan of the cavalier, but this one was the one version that I did really like and want, back in the day.

I do hope though that whoever does get this doesn't go fitting the redtop engine to it, just for a change.

I think if you want a cheap to run four seat cabriolet, those Cavaliers aren't a bad choice.

Finding one in acceptable condition is a challenge nowadays.

What's the alternative?

A Le Baron maybe. Or you'd need a lot deeper pockets.

Has this been on here yet. It looks so positively dreadful, and being an 1.8 its probably painfully slow too? I had popped this on my watch list until my recent knee/nail issue. Its got to be one of the oldest left on the road doeasn't it?

'I took it a local garage and asked them to do a major service, replace the cam belt and water pump and then to give it a full health check. They did this and the invoice was £1360!'

I'm sorry, but ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

'the engine was replaced at 45000 miles by LANDCOVER themselves for reasons I'm not sure about'

1) Who are Landcove?r and 2) Because they're shit?

Is that a large tape-measure?

I'll never forget walking up Stourbridge Lower High Street and being winked at by a gold Lotus.

The Megane cabrio can usually be had for cheap. The mk1 looks pretty good, and isn't plagued with all the reliability issues and difficult to service parts like the newer ones. That said mine's been off the road for over a year because I can't figure out how to get the airbag light to go out.

That's just the sort of louche behaviour I'd expect from a gold Lotus.

Meanwhile, talking of lechery, cop a load of this:

chocolate velour interior.

12 Months MOT (no advisories)

Dinitrol rust treatment

No!  Nurse!  Make it stop!

That's a shit excuse because a) no srs/airbag bulb isn't a MoT RfR. B) If it has a separate SRS ECU, the box may have gone tits up. Happened with my Honda. Couldn't get any diagnostics out of it, so swapped the SRS control module and it was working normally. Going to see if the old one can be fixed.

So what's the real excuse again? Is it COS IT IS RENNO?

Wait wait hold the bus ... I thought it was? The other things I had to fix were a headlight with broken adjuster (lamp was very obviously off), replacement of some bulbs, tyre needed replacing, and some other niggly bits I've forgotten. If SRS light isn't a fail then I'll book it in.

Could be worth getting one of these and barning it as a curiosity, you will be able to trailer it to events and wow the crowds by ACTUALLY STARTING AND RUNNING THE ENGINE in a few years time.

Fuel injection fault warning light (tempermental)
