OMG! OMG! OMG!

look at this wedge, of cheesy wedgey goodness!

a minty looking princess, the second one in the last few days.

where are they all coming from?

This is mine. It does have some surface rust, it's not as minty as this photo makes it look! I think I will change it tomorrow.

If you mean the red one, it's been for sale repeatedly for a couple of months-ish now

Posted

since the princess is all but extinct now, any remaining examples are minty mint (even when they are not)

it is a shame, they are such a stylish car.

and i think they have gotten better with age.

but i am odd....

i'm interested to see what this sells for , it is the same colour as mine though this one is slightly older and with more toys which were an optional extra. mr hutchinson (OBE) who ordered mine must have been a tight arse cos i didn't get cruise control, front cup holders, heated & memory seats and steering column thing....

mine is on an N reg, this though is almost an exact twin!

Some of the odder looking BL stuff has aged quite well, IMO stuff like the TR7, Princess and even the Allegro anticipated styling trends that came later on.

are these really getting as cheap as this?

i know this one has had a minor bump, and that they are a MASSIVELY more complicated box of tricks compared to my old x300, but even so

and i think the post above is correct, that BL's greatest hits do look better now i guess than they did back in the '70s.

maybe harris mann was on to something afterall, as things that have come since do use, from time to time BL's stylistic quirks.

@theorganist: FWIW, if I'd got the readies I'd have bought your Princess and then consider breaking the beige one.  It's priced really keenly in the current market, just a case of finding the right buyer for it.  Mind you, if I'd got the readies I'd buy that red L model one too, he's doing himself no favours by not putting an MoT on it.

I've had someone look at it but he wants to completely strip it back and make it concourse. However he wants to pay pennies for it.

I thought the red one was a little expensive considering it has no mot.

Looks like to have a VERY posh hot beverage do-bob in the back:

My spidey (bullshit) senses start tingling at people with mega plans and no money like this. If he's going to embark on a mega nut & bolt resto, paying a fair price for the car is the least of his worries. I call tyre kicker. Sack him off.

Cheers I have done. Maybe my initial price was a little optimistic as it does have a few blemishes and my pictures probably make it look better than it does close but it's not often a MOT'd Princess comes up for sale now at less the four figures, certainly none that I have seen!

I see wedge Princess prices skyrocket in the near future.

Good six cylinder examples are already in Granada MKII Ghia territory.

Generally, cheap BL chod will be a thing of the past very soon.

to be honest, i didnt think that your initial asking price was over the top at all, infact it seemed quiet reasonable.

after all said and done, the car does ave a test on it.

Don't budge on your price, theorganist, I think you're being more than fair.  Tyre kickers be damned, it's not 1994 and Princesses aren't being given away free on every street in Britain.  More's the pity.
